Kayla’s video session had dragged on hours past its limit, leaving her tired, a little sore, and absolutely famished.
Irritation simmered under her skin—her costar was quite full of himself. He’d been intentionally blowing his cues all day, forcing retake after retake, clearly enjoying himself far more than the scene required. As she pulled on her clothes, Adrienne’s earlier comment drifted back with maddening precision: maybe this really was too much work.
And the worst part—she still hadn’t been paid.
A few people lingered in the studio, stretching and chatting. Good. If she jumped straight from her dressing room, someone might wonder where she went. Better to be seen leaving through the front door.
Her muscular costar glanced up, “Rest up, darling. I’ll have something big waiting for you tomorrow.” He flashed a grin and winked. “Oh—and Carlos may be joining us.”
She returned a polite smile and wave, then stepped out into the cool evening air.
Rain. Ugh.
A few cars rolled by, but the sidewalks were nearly empty. She was too tired to look for a microwave. She headed down the block toward a spot where her vanishing wouldn’t be too obvious.
Then her senses prickled—a faint pressure at the edge of awareness. Not danger exactly… just presence. She kept walking, pretending to browse the storefronts.
A travel agency poster snagged her attention. She stopped.
It read, JOIN THE SERVICE. SEE THE UNIVERSE. What looked like an Arcturian Axiom Class starship gleamed across the image.
She blinked. Leaned closer. “Join the service? See the universe? What the F…” she muttered.
Movement flickered in the window glass. A reflection behind her. Her first thought was car headlights.
Her breath caught.
A luminous orb hovered in the street only yards away—identical to the ones they’d seen at base, but impossibly out of place here. It shouldn’t have been able to track her this far. Miles from the bunker… how had it found her?
She eased back from the window, pulse tightening, and quickened her pace toward the nearby alley.
As she turned, a flicker of movement caught in her peripheral vision. The orb was no longer small—no longer passive. It had swollen to many times its original size, its surface pulsing like a living star.
Then it lunged.
The distance vanished in a single heartbeat. Bright, searing light engulfed her, swallowing her breath, swallowing everything.
She jumped—pure instinct, pure terror.
Her eyes snapped open. Concrete walls. The familiar hum of electronics. The bunker.
Her pulse hammered against her ribs. She exhaled hard, relief flooding through her in a shaky rush.
That had been almost too late. It wasn’t observing her.
That thing was hunting her.

If you are in the UK and you watched the latest episode of "race across the world" this is the fab island of Langkawi.
Langkawi, officially known by its sobriquet Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah (Malay: Langkawi Permata Kedah), is a duty-free island and an archipelago of 99 islands (plus five small islands visible only at low tide in the Strait of Malacca) located some 30 km off the coast of northwestern Malaysia and a few kilometres south of Ko Tarutao, adjacent to the Thai border. Politically, it is an administrative district of Kedah, with Kuah as its largest town. Pantai Cenang is the island's most popular beach and tourist area.
Langkawi receives more than 2,400 mm (94 in) of rain annually. Langkawi features a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen climate classification (Am) ) Langkawi has a short dry season from December until February. March to November is a long rainy season. September is the wettest month, when it can receive more than 500 mm (20 in).

Standing in open countryside above the River Wye, Goodrich castle is one of the finest and best preserved of all English medieval castles. Despite its setting near the Anglo-Welsh border, the castle led a largely peaceful existence, and its ruined state is the result of a single violent episode during the Civil war of the 17th century.
The black heron (Egretta ardesiaca) also known as the black egret, is an African heron. It is well known for its habit of using its wings to form a canopy when fishing.
The black heron has an interesting hunting method called canopy feeding - it uses its wings like an umbrella, and uses the shade it creates to attract fish. This technique was well documented in episode 5 of the BBC's "The Life of Birds". Some have been observed feeding in solitary, while others feed in groups of up to 50 individuals, 200 being the highest number reported. The black heron feeds by day but especially prefers the time around sunset. It roosts communally at night, and coastal flocks roost at high tide. The primary food of the black heron is small fish, but it will also eat aquatic insects, crustaceans and amphibians.

Adrienne gathered a few things, having no idea what might be needed or for how long. She pulled on her sweatshirt, her mind still swimming with unanswered questions.
“Who are they—the men that are after me… us?”
Kayla met her gaze, her expression serious. “I’ll explain everything soon. But they’re not men. They only look that way so they can be among humans can hide what they really are. They can look any way they like”
Adrienne swallowed hard.
“Then… what are they?”
Kayla hesitated, just for a moment. “They’re descendants of the Earth’s original inhabitants. In their true form, they’re reptilian—very dangerous, cunning, and completely ruthless.” She exhaled sharply. “They want the power the VDD gives us, but the device doesn’t work for them. They need a jumper—like us—to operate it.”
Adrienne’s pulse quickened. “And you said I was ‘one of us.’ What does that mean?”
Kayla’s focus remained locked on the window, scanning the street outside. “Forget everything you think you know about history and the story of mankind. Our ancestors arrived on earth millions of years ago—long before recorded history. You’re living in the fourth great civilization. But the reptilians… they control almost everything again.”
“You, I, are both are of the ancient bloodline of the Jahri.”, continued Kayla. “Only people like us can access the power of the VDD”.
Before Adrienne could process the revelation, both girls sensed danger. Then the sudden creak of the back door shattered the moment.
Both girls spun around.
“They’re here!” Kayla hissed. “Time to jump. Take my hand—just like before!”
And in an instant, they vanished.

513 on the Milwaukee Road heading out of Cedar Rapids I believe this was a CRCB. Unfortunately this stretch of Milwaukee Road is some of the only Iowa trackage where the 513 isn't on home rails, although I'll get over it. Certainly was a nice catch on the way home from chasing branch lines across Iowa for a week.
I haven't posted a new custom in a while, so I'm glad I had the time to make this! This template took a while to get looking right, and I finally got it to a point where I'm satisfied with the way it looks. My next upcoming customs will be this clone in blue, red, green, and yellow variants, so look out for those! Be sure to view on large to see the details! Let me know what you think, and if you fave, please comment too! Comments mean so much more than faves!

Andalusia is located in southern Spain and covers an area of 8 provinces. Andalusia is the second largest autonomous region in Spain. Beautiful Andalucía, the land of olives, oranges, sunflowers, beautiful mountain ranges and valleys, nice white mountain villages with beautiful squares, is a bridge between two continents, Africa and Europe, and is the point where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea meet. There is something for everyone in Andalusia, from culture to beautiful terraces, sights, long beaches, beautiful inland areas with beautiful reservoirs, mountains and nice villages to visit. Seville is the capital of the province of Andalusia. It has a colorful history dating back to the Romans. You will find beautiful historic buildings, but also tapas bars where they serve the tastiest dishes. And of course not to forget the flamenco. The great thing about The Royal Alcazars of Seville that it is actually still in use by the Spanish King and completely authentic. Stroll in the Alcázar wonderfully through the beautiful landscaped gardens, past all those centuries-old trees, colorful flowers, stately statues, idyllic fountains and courtyards after you have admired the impressive palace. The first stones were laid by the Visigoths, then the Romans, but the Moors then made it really big and beautiful. After the conquest of the Moors by the Catholic Kings in the 14th century, the palace was further expanded, entirely in Mudéjar style The result of the merger of two traditions namely the Islam tradition on the one hand and the Christian tradition on the other. tradition on the other.
The Real Alcázar is the Royal Palace in Seville. The Palace is situated near the Cathedral. Photo of the Patio de las Doncellas - The Courtyard of the Maidens, refers to the legend that the Moors demanded 100 virgins every year as tribute from Christian kingdoms in Iberia. It is built in Mudéjar style; an architectural style with many influences from Moorish and Christian culture. It is probably the oldest palace in use in Europe; when King Felipe-V is visiting Seville, this UNESCO-listed palace is still his residence.

Slenter in het Alcázar heerlijk door de prachtige aangelegde tuinen, langs al die eeuwen oude bomen, kleurrijke bloemen, statige beelden, idyllische fonteintjes en hofjes nadat je het indrukwekkende paleis hebt bewonderd. De eerste stenen zijn ooit gelegd door de Visigoten, daarna de Romeinen maar de Moren hebben het vervolgens echt groots en prachtig gemaakt. Na de verovering op de Moren door de Katholieke Koningen, in de 14e eeuw, is het paleis verder uitgebouwd, geheel in Mudéjar stijl Het resultaat van het samengaan van twee tradities namelijk de islam- traditie enerzijds en de Christelijke traditie anderzijds.
