Deventer op Stelten 2017 - English
For more than twenty years the historic town of Deventer in the Netherlands has celebrated culture and arts on the streets. While ‘Op Stelten’ (‘on stilts’) is now used largely as a figurative sense, the performers are truly of the highest level and come from all over Europe. During the weekend of 7 till 9 July the centre of Deventer turns into a giant open air theatre stage and attracts thousands of enthusiastic visitors.
This year, the 21st edition of the festival takes place from Friday evening the 7th until Sunday afternoon the 9th of July. The programme includes more than 150 top performances by theatre groups from all over Europe and the Netherlands. The entrance is free, with exception of a few ticketed performances.
In the last years ‘Deventer Op Stelten’ has developed strongly content-wise into a internationally acknowledged festival in professional open air theatre. As a result of its specific form and artistic quality, ‘Deventer Op Stelten’ has grown out to a leading festival for international open air theatre, and was declared the winner of Best Public Event of The Netherlands in 2014. Each year, the festival is visited by more than 120.000 visitors and is seen as an extraordinary, festive and world class cultural festival.

A couple of enthusiasts watch BR Standard 4MT No. 76017 approaching Alresford with a demonstration freight train.
This was taken during the Mid Hants Railway's 2018 spring gala, and was running as the 1100 from Alton.
The 115 BR Standard 4MT locomotives were nicknamed 'pocket rockets' by enthusiasts, based upon their rapid acceleration and their explosive exhaust. Like all of British Railways' standard locomotives, it was in service for very few years - in this case, just over 12 years. Four of these locomotives survive into preservation.

The McMinns Lagoon Recreation Reserve is situated in 41 hectares of unspoilt wetland, near Humpty Doo in the Darwin rural area, Northern Territory, Australia
It is a natural jewel amongst the Municipality's Reserves. It offers nature enthusiasts and bird watchers alike a wide spectrum of bird life and butterfly activity all year round.
The Reserve holds a comprehensive Bird Sanctuary status and contains one of the largest varieties of flora and fauna habitats in the Northern Territory.
The Lookout is a well kept lawn area with picnic tables and a light at night for people to relax and unwind whilst looking over the scenic lagoon. A very popular lunch spot for many, it is also a favoured location for professional and amateur photographers and videographers. A perfect venue for bush weddings.
There are a number of walking tracks including "Scotty's Walkway" that take visitors around the lagoon and through the surrounding woodland.
The Reserve is located amidst the rural properties and winding roads of McMinns Lagoon area.

The Morgan Plus 8 is a sports car built by British car maker Morgan from 1968 to 2004 and again in revised form between 2012 and 2018. Its instant and enduring popularity has been credited with saving the company and keeping the company famous during the 36 years of its manufacture. Among Morgan enthusiasts, it is deeply associated with Peter Morgan, the owner-chairman behind its design.
Design
The development of the Plus 8 was led by Maurice Owen, an engineer taken on specifically for the role. The Plus 8 prototype was based on a modified chassis from the Plus 4, altered to accept the Rover alloy block 215 cu in (3.5 L) V8, purchased from GM-Buick in 1967. Plus 4's Moss gearbox was carried over and the Salisbury 7HA axle was uprated with a limited-slip differential. The chassis was developed in stages to accommodate gearbox changes in 1973 and 1976, 1995 the body widened in 1976 to accommodate the widened chassis and the wings widened to accommodate larger tires to handle the increasing power and trend for lower profile and wider tires. The original 1968 Plus 8 was 57 inches (1,400 mm) wide and the last was 64 inches (1,600 mm) (with an optional "widebody" at 67 inches (1,700 mm)) From the 1960s and (according to all auto magazines) through the 1980s for acceleration between 20-80mph, the Plus Eight was the fastest-accelerating UK production car. To this day, early Plus 8s are frequently the winners in the 1960-1970 class in the UK.
In 2002, Morgan created a "LeMans Edition" with similar exterior feature to the 1960s Plus 4 LeMans winner. In 2003, Morgan created a 35th year "Anniversary Edition" of the Plus 8. The 35th Anniversary model was built in 100 examples and has a walnut dashboard, mesh behind the grille bars, a "LeMans style" gear knob, and a badge on the rear panel. The original brochure also referenced the fact that the Plus 8 was to be discontinued the following year.
Following the discontinuation of the Rover V8, production of Plus 8 ended in 2004. A revised Aero, powered by a 4.8-litre BMW V8 engine, was placed on an Aero chassis, with Aero 8 suspension, axles, brakes, steering, gearbox, and altered wings was introduced in 2012, They also called this model "Plus 8" and it was sold concurrently with the Aero 8 from that date until the elimination of the Aero line-up in 2020.
In 2014, Morgan created another edition called the Plus 8 'Speedster' models based on the later Aero configuration noted above. It began as a limited edition, but production was not limited to the originally advertised 60 examples. This limited run forwent the traditional roof in favor of a small fly screen and hidden roll bars behind the front seats. Pitched as an entry-level Plus 8 model, they went on sale for £69,999.
This is Muralt Bluff Prairie State Natural Area where I do volunteer work to restore and maintain this and several other State Natural Areas and Prairie Enthusiast properties. Fresh air, camaraderie and photo ops are my payback. I don't need "weed, whites or wine" as the song suggests, but a cold beer after a prescribed burn is always nice.

Life can be dangerous for a small bird. Yellow Warblers have occasionally been found caught in the strands of an orb weaver spider’s web.
Der kurzfristige Einsatz der Baureihe 218 vor Doppelstockwagen über Allerheiligen 2024 zog zahlreiche Eisenbahnfreunde von Nah und Fern an die Strecke zwischen Mühldorf und Freilassing. Die Südostbayernbahn hat hier flexibel auf einen erhöhten Fahrgaststrom aufgrund der Streckensperre zwischen Rosenheim und Freilassing reagiert und mehr Sitzplatzkapazität auf der Ausweichroute angeboten. Am 01. November 2024 hatten sich bei Gausburg neben mir noch etliche weitere Fotografen eingefunden, um die 218 498 vor der RB 27985 zu dokumentieren.
The short-term use of the class 218 in front of double-decker coaches over All Saints' Day 2024 attracted numerous railway enthusiasts from near and far to the line between Mühldorf and Freilassing. Südostbayernbahn reacted flexibly to the increased passenger flow due to the line closure between Rosenheim and Freilassing and offered more seating capacity on the alternative route. On 1 November 2024, several other photographers had gathered at Gausburg alongside me to document 218 498 in front of RB 27985.

Jedes Jahr zieht es unzählige Fotografen im Winter samstäglich an die Giselabahn, wenn Turnuszüge eingelegt sind. Im Jahr 2016 ist deren Anzahl auf nur noch zwei Zugpaare geschrumpft. Diese sind jedoch recht fotogen, da sie ausschließlich vom EVU Lokomotion traktioniert werden. Am 06. Februar 2016 erwartete ich die Züge bei Fieberbrunn. Als erster kam der D 13189 "Schnee-Express" aus Hamburg-Langenfelde, bestehend aus EuroExpress Wagen, durch die tief verschneite Winterlandschaft vorbeigefahren. Zuglok war 185 664.
Every year on Saturdays during wintertime lots of railway enthusiasts travel to the Giselabahn in Tyrol, Austria. There you can see interesting special services from the Benelux and northern parts of Germany to the ski resorts of Tyrol and Salzburg. Over the years these trains became less and less but in 2016 you can still find two of them. One is the "Snow-Express" from Hamburg to Schwarzach St. Veit with its characteristic purple EuroExpress coaches. Between Wörgl and its final destination, engines of Lokomotion will haul this train. At the 06th of February 2016 I awaited this photogenic night train at Fieberbrunn. This time, it was pulled by 185 664 in its "Kombiverkehr" livery. In the background you can see the impressive mountain chain of the "Wilder Kaiser".

I came across this chap (leaning on the column) in St. Peter’s Square, Manchester along with two of ‘Helpers’. I asked him if his ‘full plate camera’ was in use or just for show. He said it was but had been adapted to take film. I also asked if his hat was an Ansel Adams statement; he just smiled and said “It might be”. I never saw him use the camera but saw him later in the afternoon and he had moved to another area; so maybe he had taken some photos.
