At a small Cars & Coffee event in Haddon Heights, NJ. Rather beefy and with some kind of weird two-wheeled contraption in the bed. Apparently it's had the engine swapped for a TDI from a Jetta.

I don't know what year it was manufactured, but I believe that this Volkswagen Corrado is an early model that was originally equipped with the supercharged 1.8L "G60" engine.
I'd seen it in traffic in the past, but this time I found it parked *and* I had my phone with me to take a couple of pictures.
The owner wasn't around, and I would have liked to talk with him / her / them, but the car does appear to be powered by one of VW's turbocharged direct-injection (TDI) diesel engines.
I can only imagine how much documentation and effort was required in order to satisfy the emissions control (or "smog check") authorities.

Not your ordinary 1991 Nissan Skyline four door. This one has a General Motors LS-series V8 engine swapped in likely to piss off fan boys on both sides of the fence.

Can you believe that the world’s first S55 engine swap was done by an enthusiastic team of student builders? This very cool BMW E30 M3 from Honest Assembly made a huge splash at the 2018 SEMA Show, where it debuted in the CSF Radiators booth! It’s powered by 500HP 3.0L twin-turbocharged S55 inline 6 from the F80 M3 equipped with CSF heat exchangers and rides on Motion Control remote-reservoir coilovers, Essex AP Racing brakes, 225/40ZR18 & 245/35ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, the Forgeline Flush-Loc Centerlock Conversion Kit, and center locking 18x8.0/18x8.5 Forgeline LS3 wheels finished with Graphite centers and Brushed/Cleared outers! Guess the engine bay that this 2JZ sits in. It is a personal project of one of the technicians at Portland Speed Industries. He is doing most of the work himself with a little assistance from his coworkers.

The engine room of a red and black Honda B18-engined Mini of indeterminate vintage (Mark III or newer, I'd guess late eighties or so). Supertrax wheels, carbon fibre fender extensions, and giant racing seats - the interior looks nearly as tightly packed as the engine compartment. At an import show attached to the 2014 Lime Rock vintage racing weekend and concours d'élegance.

I have a friend who was a certified mechanic which meant that whenever we had car issues, we'd be the ones working on it. I definitely got my mechanical knowledge from him. My 240SX had served me well, but had spun a bearing on the way out to Radium. What better excuse to do an engine swap! So, out comes the KA24DE and in goes the CA18DET. A smaller and lighter, but more powerful engine thanks to the turbocharger. Not so young, but still stupid today. To keep the stock AC working, we fabricated some rather strong brackets with our Asian Engineering and terrible MIG welding skills.
I've liked cars since I was little and remember watching Formula 1 on TV in Hong Kong when Prost and Senna were dominating with McLaren Honda in that iconic Marlboro logo'ed car. There's no tobacco sponsorship in F1 anymore and the cars have totally changed. They were too crazy in the 80's with the turbos and although the lap times are fastest now, it's all due to tires and aerodynamics rather than raw power. I don't own any TAG Heuer watches, but that's where their racing heritage comes from. TAG was a turbo manufacturer and Heuer was a watch company. Somehow for whatever reason TAG bought Heuer and TAG Heuer was formed. Their Formula 1 quartz watches are classic and still quite recognizable. A very strange thing to say about a quartz watch.
