The Province of BC released its Natural Gas strategy and complementary strategy focusing specifically on the development of a brand-new LNG sector. - Feb. 3, 2012. Learn more.
The Province is planning to continue to grow the industry over the next 10 years. In the BC Jobs Plan released in September, the Province committed to having its first LNG plant in operation by 2015 and three LNG facilities operating by 2020, assuming all environmental approvals are in place.
With the development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a shippable form of natural gas – BC is ideally positioned to compete for a share of that lucrative market.

Presentation: IS EUROPEAN CLIMATE POLICY THE NEW COMMON AGRICULTURAL POLICY?
On 17 February 2011 Polish Institute of International Affairs and Bruegel (Brussels) organised presentation with participation of Georg Zachmann (Bruegel) as a speaker and Artur Gradziuk (PISM) as a commentator.

Georg Zachmann joined Bruegel in September 2009 as a Resident Fellow. He is currently a member of the German Advisory Group in Ukraine and the German Economic Team in Belarus, advising policymakers in these countries on energy sector issues. Previously he worked at LARSEN in Paris, at the German Ministry of Finance and at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). Georg defended his PhD thesis at Dresden University of Technology and holds a Diploma in Economics from Humboldt University Berlin.

In its third phase (2013-20) the European Union's emissions trading system (ETS) will issue allowances for around two billion tonnes of CO2 equivalent each year. The emission rights are valued at around €30-35 billion at current prices, between one-half and two-thirds of the amount the EU spends on the Common Agricultural Policy. The redistributive effects of the allocation of emission allowances are therefore potentially significant. Quantitative indicators for the relative degree to which individual countries will be affected by the ETS suggest that economic consequences for the member states will be quite different. By comparing the indicators for each country with that country's initial allocation, Georg Zachmann finds, however, that countries with less favourable initial conditions are largely
compensated.

Gillian Daniel - Technologist - Amor Energy
Gillian is one of our Amor Energy technologists. She is originally from Aberdeen, but moved to Glasgow to help facilitate her husband Les's future career as a rock star (which, she confirms, they are still waiting to come to fruition).
Having worked with the likes of Telelogic on requirements gathering applications, Gillian is a resident Java expert, with extensive experience in areas such as hydrocarbon accounting.
Despite her technical knowledge, it is possible that Gillian only gets up in the morning to fuel her love for everything bovine. With a variety of cow-themed objects adorning her home, she apparently even asked Robert Wiseman Dairy if they would act as chauffeur to her wedding in a milk float. She is still waiting on a reply.
The impact of water stress on the energy sector was the subject of IEA Global Energy Economics Analyst Timur Guel's address during the event "Enhancing Energy Security by Making the Energy System More Resilient to Climate Change Impacts" at the Paris climate talks on 3 December.

Kit Wilkinson - Technology Director
Energy Sector
Kit’s role as Energy Technology Director emphasises the focus on new technology developments that match the growth trajectories of Amor’s Energy sector customers.
Hailing from a highly analytical background, Kit has 16+ years’ experience in the design and development of challenging and innovative new systems for complex applications. His involvement with Amor’s customers has spanned all three sectors demonstrating an in-depth knowledge only a true technologist can claim.
A specialist in flow modelling and analytics, Kit has an impressive ability to translate complex requirements into an effective solution, with some particularly interesting examples of his work lie in the energy and aviation industries.
A few little-known humanising facts about Kit:
- Ask him about origami and prepare to be amazed at the potential applications such an innocent art form holds!
- Some more outdoor-type talents include his skills as a certified dry stone waller and some serious stamina in long distance walking, having walked the pacific crest trail (PCT) – yes that’s a whole 2,861 miles. Blimey!

The Energy Sector in the CrowdPoint Buttonwood Ecosystem!
The Global Industry Classification Standard used by Morgan Stanley define the energy industry as comprising companies primarily working with oil, gas, coal and consumable fuels, excluding companies working with certain industrial gases.[6] Using CrowdPoint’s next generation Blockchain all members of the ecosystem benefit from the transparency, speed and immutable transactions associated with Energy Equipment & Services, Oil & Gas Drilling, Equipment and Services. To include Gas, Consumable Fuels and Integrated Oil. Our Blockchain accounts for sub-industry horizontal and vertical integration of Oil & Gas Exploration, Production, Refining, Marketing, Gas Storage and Transportation.
"The #Mission is to horizontally and vertically unite Energy Equipment, Supplied, Services and Technology for Oil, Gas and Consumable Fuels on our NexGen Blockchain in order to #DEMOCRATIZE the Energy Experience for your HUMAN IDENTITY!!"
