There was a very low tide off New Brighton at 0.6m which reveals the wreck of The SS Denham that succumbed to a mine in 1946.
It's around a mile or so out and is only revealed at very low water. I'd been wanting to make the walk out for a while.
After a 20-30 minute walk across the sands you reach the wreck. Got some nice images which I need to process but because you are so far off the prom the skies seem huge and the wind farms seem so much closer.
Quite creepy being so far out, even with the knowledge that low tide wasn't for another 30 minutes....

Fully loaded, Denver & Rio Grande Western Train 702 departs the Energy Mine for Public Service of Colorado’s Cherokee Plant in Denver. This crew will take the train as far as Phippsburg, where it began the day as Train 701.

Usually I find those very disturbing in my landscape photography because there are so many of them around here. Sometimes I simply decide to make them the subject....

Abandoned power plant for a former paper factory
The last part of the power plant in this stream shows the old boiler house, which contains two water pipe radiant boilers by Steinmüller, built in 1936 and 1950, with travelling grate firing for hard coal - operating pressure 25 atü. I hope, my English is correct ;-)
This was how the sky looked about 10 minutes or so before sunset time along Middle River. At this time my dad who came out to see how things would unfold this evening were talking about the potential for colors this evening based on the cloud deck and the clearing in the sky farther to the west.
The winds were calm as well, creating a nice reflective surface. I like to call this time the 'potential energy' of the sunset colors was very HIGH at this moment ... all the elements were there as long as there were not farther off clouds below the horizon in the west that we could not see. Considering the skies were not forecasted to be clear until closer to the following morning ... you could not be 100 positive that the sun would be blocked cutting off the light as things progressed.
Alas, the potential energy was all released over the following 30 minutes.
