The birth of the first emoticon is very controversial and very complex, then for the curious recommend going to read on wikipedia :))
Curiosity:
According to some, the emoticon is merely a stylized smiley created by Harvey R. Ball very fashionable in the seventies and eighties.
There is an earlier case of emoticons ante litteram, in the novel One, No One hundred thousand of Luigi Pirandello (1926), in which you use graphic signs to describe a facial expression.

Macro Mondays theme: look for and photograph faces in everyday objects or in your surroundings. This phenomenon is called Pareidolia. Now I see faces everywhere ;-)

This is my second fruit carving attempt. Dont you think that Orange seems like the Annoying Orrange. Haha!
For the angry apple, I selected a dirty apple. Just to match the mood I planned to apply on it.
Without a lighting kit, I managed to shot it with great lighting. My best ever lighting so far. :))

I am feeling quite amazing. Everything seems to be coming together quite nicely. Crazy how life can change for the good in a split second.
Today's photo is based on Emoticons found in messengers or anywhere on the internet for that matter. Those little faces that express the way we feel, so people may see it instead of read it. So I did my take on emoticons used in real life. Today I certainly chose the happy one. Why? Well because I am happy of course, lol.
This was quite fun to shoot, trying to get all the expressions right. If A.S. was here I would certainly be using the emoticon in front of my face, hehe... ♥
