Happy Fence Friday!

Shot at the "Kaiserplatz" in the city of Bonn, Germany.

One of Ladybower Reservoir’s spillways affectionately known as the Plugholes.

Only two hours out of my life to reach here and get home before the heavens opened again. The joys of autumn.

Last Sunday morning I looked out of the window at 05:30 and saw that it was foggy so I decided to head out for the sunrise. With all the rain we had on Saturday a had an inkling that the overflows on Ladybower would be running so made my way there, the water was indeed going down the ‘plug holes’ and also the reservoir was shrouded in mist creating a wonderfully atmospheric scene. I took a couple of pictures of the overflows but it was the valve house that really caught my eye perfectly reflected over the misty water.(Olympus EM-1 mkii 7-14mm f/2.8pro 1/10secs f/6.3 @ 14mm Kase Wolverine 3 stop reverse grad)

Winter on Lag da Cauma

It must be, because it's also the title picture of my guidebook.

We had made a stop alongside Loch Shin where we had finally found calm water and some stunning reflections. In the 2-3 minutes it took to grab the gear the breeze was up and the reflections were gone. Mindful of this, when we arrived at a still Loch Stack, I raced across the marshy shore to capture not only a near perfect reflection but also some lovely fleeting light on Arkle and the foreground reeds. I managed just 3 exposures before the breeze once again returned, the water rippled and this was to be the last reflection we would capture that afternoon.
