West Aberdeenshire, viewed from Elrick. I love our skies - ever changing, never boring.

The Lane–Hooven House is a historic house museum in Hamilton, Ohio. Built in 1863 for Clark Lane, a Hamilton industrialist and philanthropist, the octagonal house features a brick exterior with Gothic Tudor elements. Other features include an open spiral staircase extending from the basement to the third floor turret, cast-iron fence, a greenhouse and a fountain

The Lane–Hooven house, built in 1863 by James Elrick a Hamilton, Ohio builder, is one of only 400 octagonal structures in the United States. In 1866, Owner Clark Lane had a library built across the street from his home in the same octagonal design.[3] The Lane–Hooven house and its sister building, the Lane Public Library, are located in the German Village Historic District.

The Lane–Hooven House was purchased in 1875 by John L. Martin, then president of the Second National Bank of Hamilton

SY07 CVA is a Volvo B9TL/East Lancs Olympus new as Highland Country Buses as their no. 365 in June 2007.

It initially carried JET livery for the Inverness airport service before joining the Stagecoach fleet as 16947 when they acquired the Highland Country and Rapson's businesses and is now part of the Bluebird fleet.

It is seen here on Guild Stret in Aberdeen city centre operating city service 5 (Union Square-Elrick).

Stagecoach Bluebird painted Alexander Dennis Enviro300 27800 (SS55 BLU) into Bluebird Northern livery as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations.

It is seen here in Albyn Place whilst operating service 5 (Elrick-Union Square). It was new to the Bluebird fleet in July 2012 as SV12 CZK. It carries Bluebird Northern fleet number NBT 16M.

The SS55 BLU plate entered Stagecoach through the Bluebird of Middleton fleet. It had originally been on an Alexander Dennis Mini Pointer Dart.

At Westhill Petrol Station, Elrick. Apparently they are army vehicles due to the flourescent stars. DX67DZY does not appear on DVLA web site and I cannot make out the discovery in the background.

Stagecoach Bluebird placed their hydrogen fleet into service last week like First after a few trial runs the week before. Six are allocated to the X17 replacing Enviro300.

29904 departs Union Street for Elrick.

Stagecoach Bluebird Alexander Dennis Enviro350H 29003 turns from Market Street in to Aberdeen Bus Station while working on a Service 4 from Countesswells.

The 4 is a new service operating half hourly Monday-Saturday daytime between Union Square and the new suburb of Countesswells, along with the new 5/6 to Westhill it is one of three services replacing the X17.

The 4/5/6 each run half hourly and combine to offer a 10 minute frequency between Union Square Bus Station and Kingswells Park & Ride, from there the 4 operates to Countesswells while the 5/6 continue to Westhill before splitting with the 5 operating to Elrick and the 6 to Broadshades. Previously the X17 operated every 15 minutes to Broadshades via Elrick. The 5/6 offer the same number of buses to Westhill but with a lower vehicle requirement, allowing for the launch of the 4 and the overall increase of frequency between Aberdeen and Kingswells P&R. Although those in Elrick and Broadshades have seen their frequency cut to half hourly.

As per the previous X17 some peak runs on the 5/6 operate via Total Oil while most runs on the 4/5 operate via PRIME FOUR business park. In the early morning, evening and Sundays a 6A variant operates which serves both Broadshades and Elrick.

This was built and painted in a small wooden garage by a friend of mine Stuart Elrick in Bonnie Scotland.

It started life as a 4 door.

This year will be it's first run out since it's extensive transformation.

Stagecoach Bluebird BYD D8UR-DD ADL Enviro400EV 14038 sits on Carnie Crescent in Elrick awaiting it's return journey back to Aberdeen Bus Station on a Service 5.

In 2021 Stagecoach Bluebird revised their Westhill services with the X17 being replaced by a new 5 & 6. The 5 & 6 follow the same rough route as the X17 however after serving Hay's Way in Westhill the 5 continued to Elrick and the 6 to Broadshades offering a more direct service than the X17 which operated to Broadshades via Elrick. Additionally the 6 operates via PrimeFour Business Park.

The 5/6 were also joined by a new Service 4 from Aberdeen to Countesswells which is a new housing development between Kingswells and Cults. The 4/5/6 combine to offer a 10 minute frequency between Aberdeen and Kingswells P&R.

This change also saw the return of the use of the service numbers 4 and 5 along the Queens Road corridor, the same numbers as those used by Aberdeen Corporation from 1898 and 1969 respectively until 1983 when they were renumbered to 14 & 15 to allow the 4 & 5 numbers to be used for services to the then expanding Bridge Of Don areas.

14038 is one of twenty-two Enviro400EVs in the Bluebird fleet, although these are primarily for the Services 59 and 727 surplus examples are used most days on the 4/5/6 and 14. In the future Bluebird are to receive 13 more E400EVs will will allow for full conversion of these routes.
