A fledgling raven. Their color is more brown then black. Their eyes are a lighter color and you will notice a gape where the beak meets the head. I love the noisy buggers!!! They are very loud and funny. There were 4 successful fledglings this year from out resident pair of ravens.
The skating rink on our park brings back many happy memories of the rink in the small town where I lived. Our rink in those days had a little warming shack with a pot belly stove. Lovely memories!
It was a cold morning at the Grand Canyon. I was out to shoot sunrise. Some time later i came across this spot of ice, which was preserved in the shadow and this lonely tree. Just too good to let it pass. I hope you like it as much as i do.

In 1983 Sharon and I visited the Grand Canyon. We managed to get snowed in. Even with a 4x4 we were not able to get out to the main road, so we just made a long weekend of it.
