Maybe they'd had a tiff. This one looked smaller/slimmer. More alert. "Her" bulkier mate looked all in, plumage puffed out, ready for his pipe and slippers and the Sunday papers.
The aforementioned departure shot - no use. I greatly prefer flight shots but these tiny little scraps of life are excessively tough to catch in the air. Maybe some day? But not this one.

There's about a mile or so of this deeply wooded glade, today was full of small birds going about their small-bird business.
