Education is light….Its the only way to eliminate the obscurity
It’s the only light to eradicate the dust of a society.
Education opened the eyes and help us to stand along with the world in a single platform
Students of a primary school attending their first class of the day. There are 78126 primary schools in Bangladesh, spreading the light of knowledge to about 17.6 million children. Still this is not enough to light up the nation. Still we are far behind to illuminate the life of this apprentice.

©2012 Julia Forsyth, Day of the Dead Portrait, colored pencils and metallic colored pencils on black acid-free paper, 12" x 9" - Instagram cropped version
This is my demo I started drawing free-hand in class to show my art students how to draw a skull for our Day of the Dead project. I liked how the white-on-black drawing was going in class, so I took it home and have been working on it a lot this weekend. Still have to draw and embellish the frame, the background, and her hair, but really liking where this is headed. Excited to see this one finished but really enjoying the journey!
I have long-maintained a hearty "meh" attitude towards colored pencils, so this was a fun experience to stretch myself as an artist as I used the same materials that the students used to create their own Day of the Dead portraits. I'm still not thrilled that you can't get the pop that you can with paint or linocut, but I'm won over that they are a valid medium now.

I included the Instagram version along with the scanner version for comparison. Neither of them captures exactly what it looks like in real life, but the Instagram version is closer in color-matching.
