This is the last of my little egret images, photographed whilst waiting for ospreys at a fish farm in Rutland. I will visit again next year, and hopefully I will have more appropriate gear for photographing diving ospreys, better eyesight after 3 operations and be able to walk which I have not been able to do since an operation I had in September. I had pins removed from my feet a few days ago and won't be able to wear shoes for about a month...ouch! :-( Photography has taught me patience but in truth I already had that in spades anyway. Hope you like the image!

I visited a trout farm for ospreys earlier this year and was disappointed with my diving osprey images....though the experience was still worth the travel and cost. Sadly, the morning was very bleak and cloudy and the ospreys made about 5 dives during the heavy cloud and rubbish light. For the other half of the morning session, the sun came out gloriously....too good! Alas the ospreys did not return. I was however delighted with the images I had of the little egrets even though the sky was dark grey. Despite the appauling light I was able to get some images that I am very happy with. This is the first and it looks to me like a model on a catwalk...or maybe I just have a vivid imagination! Hope you like.
After looking at a rare (for us) Elegent Tern at Surfside I decided to spend some time around the salt marshes on Surfside, TX and came across this Clapper Rail who was hunting Fiddler Crabs. During his hunt he walked so close to me that I needed to use my 100-400mm lens to be able to fit his whole body in the photo. It is such a neat feeling when a bird will carry on with its daily activities seemingly unaffected by our presence.

The great blue heron is the largest heron native to North America. A common heron found year round in many parts of the US. Black stripe extends above eye. White foreneck is streaked with black. Breeding adult has yellowish beak and ornate plumes on head, neck, and back (as above). Compare with the Grey Heron of Eurasia. Adult Great Blue Heron has brown shoulder patch instead of the black patch of the latter.
No matter how many times I shoot this ubiquitous N. American bird, it presents me with new poses and gives me new opportunities. Really an elegant looking bird.

Spring Tulip Series: This past Spring there were some lovely tulips in my daughters backyard. A storm came along and almost destroyed them before I got photo images taken. Situated in the square which bears the same name, you will find the Ayuntamiento de Valencia (Valencia Town Hall), a key point of reference for visitors and inhabitants equally. Built in an eclectic style, it is home to the daily hectic movements of officialdom. The Ayuntamiento was built in the 18th century. Inside there is an elegent marble staircase, a ballroom and the council meeting room. The City History Museum can also be found under the roof of this noble building.
This is a panning shot taken on a flyover. To take this one has to move the camara at the speed of the subject and click. In the process the object in front is in focus and the background becomes blur. U need to take 100 pick to get one perfect shot.
Man, oh, man. I got a new dress yesterday :] Makes me smile real wide. I wore it to church, and i'm wearing it to school. Plus in this picture my heair is curled. Something its normally not. Kinda of a picture for my mom. She raised me right.
Sambeke, a proud Maasai herder (warrior age-set), comes from a small pastoral settlement nestled in the Kenyan foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro (near Amboseli National Park, Rift Valley Province). He travels each year to the island of Lamu off Keyna’s Swahili Coast to work as a security guard. The money he earns goes towards the upkeep of his family and cattle back in the homeland. Elegently adorned with glass-beaded collars and stretched earlobes with glass-beaded sleeves.

Usually, when I am editing an image, I think about what to write on my Flickr descriptions. Once I start uploading the image, and it's my time to write something up. This overwhelming urge to go to bed comes over me. All I have to say at the moment is blue is my favorite color...
