It is said that the American Avocet brings elegance in the bird world to a new level. This image taken in the mangroves of the Ten Thousand Islands in SW Florida highlights this.

the blue crane or paradise crane (anthropoides paradiseus) is one of the most "elegant" african birds.

this crane is unfortunatly becoming rare as population is drastically reduced in last years.

the last important population is now in western and eastern cape of south africa.

i got this photo around the corn fields of swellendam ,western cape

Dew melts on the petals of an unfurling tulip

Before the sun, Wellington Botanic Garden, spring, New Zealand. They plant 25,000 tulip bulbs annually according to the annual spring festival the last week of September. The odd tulip was however flowering early in September.
