I have seen several people here on Flickr and other photo sharing platforms posting pictures of flowers and I was thinking, why not me? I will say that flowers are not my favorite subject but sometimes their colors are way too wonderful to not stop a take a shot. Even if you have absolutely no idea what flower that is or how to properly take a floral photo! Happy Weekend y'all!

La torre di Velia sorge sulla collina di Castellammare della Bruca, che offre un'ampia visuale sul mare e sul territorio circostante, già sede in epoca classica della città di Elea. L'alto cilindro murario, ancora coronato dall'apparato a sporgere e circondato da una ristretta prima cinta murata, dovette costituire originariamente il dongione di un castello protetto da un sistema fortificato più esteso, di cui restano ampie tracce.
Già nell'VIII secolo il sito era fortificato e munito di una torre. Quella attuale fu completamente riedificata nel XIII secolo.
The Velia's tower stands on the Castellammare della Bruca hill, with a wide landscape on the sea and the lands around. In the classic era, on the hill was the ellenistic town of Elea. The tall tower was the keep behind the walls of the old castle.
In the VIII century the place was strengthened with a tower, totally rebuild in XIII century.
