We'll return to Orangeburg, NY on the 25th anniversary that my family moved from Rutgers Road East, site of our first home til I was 9. We'll park the car near the cemetery and walk through the winding suburban streets, past the Deaf Child Area and up the hill until we find the old house where I grew up. Along the way, I'll tell stories about what I remember while we re/discover this neighborhood together.

Elastic City Education Director Ben Weber invites young participants and their loved ones to become a living typewriter that creates cooperative public poetry, letter-by-letter.

Each participant will take on the role of a letter of the alphabet, tagging their personal character onto huge sheets of paper using large custom-made stamps.

The living typewriter will experiment with graffiti, poetry and propaganda using teamwork, improvisation and nonverbal communication. Hop to it!

This way holds 30 people (this includes parents) and is presented in partnership with the Staten Island Museum.

Here it is "fixed." I think it lays much more smoothly now. To fix it, I removed a few inches from the elastic in the back. The elastic guide that comes with the pattern is too long and I read that elsewhere, too. Oh, simplicity.

Made from some scraps. It was supposed to be a cuff bracelet but ended up as elastic bracelet. :)

On this walk, video artist Neil Goldberg invites participants to experience the observational processes behind his work in real time. The group will traverse a section of the subway with attention directed to details of the underground environment and nuances of passenger behavior that might otherwise go unnoticed. Goldberg will share his poetic approaches to seeing, refined over 20 years of creating art in New York. This walk holds 15 people and will end inside the Museum of the City of New York's exhibition of Goldberg's work.

Presented in conjunction with "Stories The City Tells Itself," and in partnership with The Museum of the City of New York.

There are benefits to working all night, staying in a seedy hotel then getting up at sparrow's fart. Like the light. The light. And the light.
