Market Street Prototyping Festival Day 1 4-9-2015

www.elastic-city.com/walks/we-and-our-shaaadows

Fixed, moving, weightless yet dense--who knows our shadows? Participants will walk in the beachfront sunset, stretch and compress, both alone and in groups. Led by Chiara Bernasconi, walkers will explore, challenge, evade and capture parts of themselves, others and the rapidly changing Coney Island shadowscape.

Participants are encouraged to bring a camera and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Elastic{ON}15 was the first-ever Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana user conference. Held from March 9 - 11, Elastic{ON} brought together 1,300 people dedicated to doing great things with data. (And, if it’s not apparent in the pictures, we had a lot of fun.)

I love the rain. I'm kind of sad that my timer missed me jumping in the puddle.

Only once did I wonder if someone was looking outside wondering what I was doing. (and that was right before I jumped in the puddle and smiled)

This is why my next camera is going to have a remote!

I saw my girlfriend's elastic hairbands lying on the bathroom sink, and I thought it'd make a nice picture.. and after my opinion; It did!

This is a bag of pieces, pieces are big enough for hairbands. What you see here: $5

The top (#11, SUM 05) does not have the elastic stitching across the chest, and also has a rolled edge finish at the hem, otherwise is unchanged from the pattern. The pant (#12, SPR 04) WAS cute -- I thought I had washed the red denim enough that it wouldn't bleed any more, but it did. Now, the ruffle on the pant is pink and not natural. I need to wash the pant and shirt together -- an improvised dye session -- to get it to match again.

Elastic{ON} Tour Australia 2015 was held on December 8th in Sydney and December 10th in Melbourne. Each stop brought together over 300 people dedicated to doing great things with data. All profits were donated to local charities to support their programs and initiatives.

It only took us about 5 hours...but its done!

Classical portraits of a German couple (1883) added with clown's noses and elastic bands.

This is my handmade and sewbinded illustrated journal. I made it with Fabriano paper. This is a kind of very stiff paper. I binded the pages with dental floss. There is also an inside pocket and it has an elastic closure. Now it's looking like a moleskine. (more)

I was at the Tower of London and heard about a legend of an escape out of the White Chapel. The monk pretend that he was praying, but trow his pray-rope out of the White Chapel. Got out and escape on a horse.

I like to try-out a slapstickversion of this legend.

"For Elastic City’s Montreal debut, Todd Shalom will work in the Mile End neighbourhood, home to CLARK Gallery. What will define this project in Montreal will be the emphasis on the sense of "touch," not in traditional sensorial terms, but in its evocative psychological and emotional dimension: the artist aims to create a touching walk."

Byways was curated by Aseman Sabet and presented by Clark Gallery. More info here: www.clarkplaza.org/programmation/13_14/viva/elasticcity_e...
