Once covered in a Buzzfeed article about '27 Breathtaking Record Stores You Have To Shop At Before You Die' (www.buzzfeed.com/mariasherm/best-record-stores-around-the...), Elastic Witch shut up shop on Saturday 19th April, on Record Store Day. They didn't have RSD releases but they did throw a party in celebration. I unfortunately couldn't cover more acts such as Gib's own band, Girls Names and Jape as I had to cover Ham Sandwich that night.
It was a great little record shop in the back of the Twisted Pepper. I asked Gib if he was sad to see it close and he described it like being a good TV show deciding to end at the right time rather than keep on going and becoming redundant.

We'll play on the steps, stretch out in metal detectors and throw our voices - all in an effort to remind our leaders that we will not be lead silently or blindly. Together, we'll confront contemporary notions of security and surveillance and shadow the daily business of our elected leaders through public buildings and back rooms.

in Ridgeway, Ontario there is a tree. A tree adorned with shoes. Apparently this is not the first "Shoe Tree" The first one was deemed 'dead' by the Ministry of the Environment or some such authority and removed. The community has rebelled by starting a new tree to keep up the tradition.
this is the outtake of today's 365 shot...i didn't like this side as much because my ear on the other shot is so mangled...but this one shows my eye and cheek better...it was a tough choice!
