This is how it looks once the elastic has been sewn on. I always place my elastic's join at the CB seam and use it as my start/finish point.

Phantom Galleries, L.A. presents its inaugural exhibit at the Pacifica Building in Long Beach, curated by artist Timothy Nolan. In response to the first appearance of the TED Conference in Long Beach this February, Super Elastic brings together large works from four Los Angeles-based artists whose work addresses our expanding visual landscape, propelled by advances in science and technology. From the subatomic to the super galactic, imagery coming from electron microscopes and the Hubble telescope is now an integral part of the culture. Quantum mechanics, relativity, the Big Bang, chaos theory, multi-dimensional math, etc., have all irrevocably shifted the consciousness of our society, even if many have little or no knowledge on the subjects. Scientists and mathematicians are busily trying to solve the puzzles of the universe, and these four artists exploit these puzzles for all they're worth.
Julia Latane's Blue Superstrings, inspired by the mind boggling concepts of string theory, springs from the wall and undulates to and fro. Rebecca Niederlander's mobiles are clearly of the natural world, but their spindly rotating flourishes could go micro or macro, referring to plant structures or meteor showers. Likewise, in wall drawings made with Mylar tape, Carrie Ungerman builds tension that evokes mighty asteroids colliding, or the tenderness of cell division. Nolan's repeated triangle floor work plays with the geometry of crystal formations while conjuring a fourth dimension with its double-mirrored surfaces. Although each artist is very literate in the history of pattern-based abstraction, conceptually and aesthetically, they are inspired by and draw liberally from an infinite pool of scientific inquiry.

lately ive gotten really hooked on these blue dot beads. They have two holes running through them which means you can weave them together into a really nice pattern...
Picnic Anyone ? These table covers make setting up and cleaning up easier.
The elastic in the edge of the cover stretches around the table's edge and holds tight !
When the party is over, stretch it back around the table edge and gather it up like a trash bag. Throw the whole contents of the table away - quick and easy !
If you're using the stitch through elastic you'll just sewing it onto the bottom of the bra. Since I was making a casing I decided to just attach the elastic using my serger- more laziness than anything else.
No longer in full dress red, these bands, dropped by postmen and post women, are now in camouflage khaki.
My first photo with elastic.
The elastic jeans I have them yet but I will wash and I'll take you back to arrange not bad if we have more than thirteen years enduring changes in body, stuck to pressure etc ...

Forty years post-Stonewall and the NYPD is still entrapping gay men for soliciting prostitutes at adult video stores (aka "bookstores") around the city. Join me while we walk around the 14th Street vicinity with focused awareness to the sounds around us. What's the sound of gay today and where does gay history echo in the present soundscape? On this 90 minute participatory soundwalk, we'll actively listen to the bars and video stores in Chelsea, the leather menagerie on Christopher Street and the late nite crowds at the piers. All are welcome. 21+ please.

Preparing the elastics and rubber bands and straps for teenage girls reverse pull headgear fitting 16 hours a day minimum wear.
I can't decide which photo to use as my photo for today. I like this one which reminds me of my snail pic the other day, but actually is almost nothing like it.
Which is your fave?
So this one won. The woman I was covering maternity leave for started this elastic band ball and I've been adding to it over the last ten months or so.
Taken with my P&S and tweaked with Gimp.
Continue the exploration of creating prototypes with elastic rubber latex sheet. Here are rigid panels and flexible panels. Much of the attention to detail is in making the molds so that they might stack on one another to form a column, or might be used separately. The white cross brace is designed to fit with subsequent shapes made later that might be larger or smaller.
Todays job was to complete the spike pulling on track panels at Kimberley. These panels were acquired a few years ago, primarily to recover the 109lb/yd FB rails which are suitable for reuse. We have been working on this for all of November. 20 panels were craned off of the stacks and and laid out. We then have to remove all of the spikes in order to free the rails for lifting out. Invariably this is a total pig of a job. The spikes resolutely hold fast in decent sleepers and those that are poorer often have the spikes rusted into the baseplates. There is a special cunning tool designed for extracting them, which provides force in the right place to lift them. With stubborn ones, a wedge can be driven in underneath, in conjunction with the tool to free locked ones, and when the baseplate is sticking on rusted spikes then the baseplate has to be hammered down as the spike is pulled. It all makes for hard work. Ear plugs or ear defenders are a must.
Here Trevor is applying persuasion to a baseplate as Chris lifts the spike.
This design of track is nearly impossible to maintain since the integrity of the track relies on the friction between the spike and the sleeper, but when it deteriorates slightly, it is difficult to rectify and hard to immediately spot problems.
