Debuting at the Tokyo Auto Show in October 2007, WRX STI versions build further on the standard WRX cars. The STI available in Japan is fitted with the 2.0-liter EJ207 engine with twin scroll turbocharger generating 308 PS. While export markets received the higher-displacement 2.5-liter EJ257 unit with the single-scroll VF48 turbocharger rated at 300 PS. The turbocharger directs air through a larger top-mount intercooler which has lost the red "STI" that was on previous generations.
To differentiate the STI from the regular WRX, Subaru opted to manufacture the STI with a wider body and therefore track—as noted by the flared wheel arches. Subaru also utilized aluminium suspension components for the STI. Electronic modifications include a multi-mode electronic stability control with "normal", "traction", and "off" modes; Subaru Intelligent-Drive (SI-Drive) with three modes: "intelligent", "sport", and "sport sharp"; and multi-mode driver controlled centre differential (DCCD). The DCCD enables driver to switch between manual and automated torque distribution ratio of the centre differential. This distribution can vary from 35/65 to 50/50 front/rear .
In 2010 for the 2011 model year, the WRX STI became available as a four-door. The most noticeable feature on the STI sedan is a large rear spoiler. A facelift of the STI arrived in 2010 for the 2011 model year, distinguished by a new front bumper. Tweaks to the suspension—stiffer springs, larger anti-roll bars, new pillow ball bushings on the front lower arms, as well as wider standard tires—had the effect of improved handling

Subaru debuted the turbocharged WRX performance variant of the third generation series alongside the mainstream naturally aspirated models on 2 April 2007.
With the higher performance WRX STI first seen at the October 2007 Tokyo Autoshow. The STI available in Japan is fitted with the 2.0-liter EJ207 engine with twin scroll turbocharger generating 227 kW (308 PS) while export models have the higher-displacement 2.5-liter EJ257 unit with the single-scroll VF48 turbocharger rated at 221 kW (300 PS). The WRX STI is heavier than the standard WRX due to a more robust transmission, rear differential and other chassis reinforcements. To differentiate the STI from the regular WRX, Subaru opted to manufacture the STI with a wider body and therefore track with flared wheelarchesand aluminium suspension components. The most noticeable feature on the STI sedan is a large rear spoiler

Well, sure, I'm biased: in real life, I drive a Subaru (Impreza Outback Sport, so that's a GF) and in general I adore Subaru as the maker of cars for engineers: here is a feature list that everyone can admire, and have you seen a naked EJ257 out of the chassis? Rawr. And yet ... I look at this and think about all the ways that Subaru has changed over the past twenty years to stay current with safety regulations and competitive comfort requirements. At one point, frameless glass was a hallmark of Subaru; now it's not just framed, there's a sash in it, too. That kink at the base of the pillar could read anything from Altima to Mazda3, and there's nothing remarkable about the backlight, only to think that how the designers made it easy for the assemblers to fit that square corner of glass into a corresponding square corner of the body. Don't get me wrong. I understand what they're doing. I understand completely. It's just ... now you have a C-pillar that's doing nothing much and looks like a thousand other cars and that's not good enough for me, but it's great for Subaru, who continue to set sales records and learn the wrong lessons.

Based on the fourth generation Subaru Impreza, but no longer bearing the Impreza name, as part of Subarus policy to divorce the standard models from the high performance rally winning cars.
For the VA series WRX was released in 2014 for the 2015 model year
The WRX STi is the evenhigher performance version of the WRX, retaining the same engine as the previous generation STI, which is a 2.5-liter EJ257 with dual AVCS however with modifications to the ECU which have increased fuel economy slightly, and has given a 6 kW (8.0 hp) boost in power to 227 kW (305 HP). though Torque has dropped and top speed is now 160 mph. It also retains a hydraulic power steering system as opposed to the WRX's new electric-assisted rack. The steering rack was changed to a quicker ratio as used in the Japan delivered vehicles,
The NBR is a limited package of around 200 cars, which features a carbon-fibre wing and a badge commemorating Subaru's class victory at the 2015 Nürburgring 24 Hours.
Many thanks for a fantabulous
