...setting up the tiny new Eee PC. It came with XP but I might slap Vista Ultimate on it. Or maybe not. I dunno yet.

AppLab projects and applications are generally tailored for Shared Phone Operators (SPOs) to use to offer services to their communities. These trusted partners already provide telephony services in their villages but AppLab sees a great opportunity for them to increase their revenue and their customers' quality of life by having more sophisticated devices.
The AppLab team always provides extensive training to SPOs before starting a new project. Here, a Makerere University student is devising a training plan. These Eee PCs were deployed in the context of High-End Device Trials aimed at discovering business models around providing Internet connectivity to rural villages.
