A forum held in Santiago de Veraguas in Panama to celebrate World Food Day. Representatives from FAO, the Government, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and associations, family farmers, indigenous people, and young people met to discuss this year’s theme and provided their own ideas on how to face these challenges as well as proposals to improve food security and rural development. A Family Farming Fair open to the public was also organised with traditional products from Panama.

Mr. McKenzie explained the key issues, options, and solutions in the debate. Then the class divided into two groups and determined which solutions were best and held a class debate and vote to solve the budget issues.
