One very patient Texas Longhorn, they have been bred in this valley for a number of years. They have a hardiness which suits the Australian Enviroment.
I should have added as soon as I put the camera down he walked very gently over to me, yes there was a fence!!

Thank you everyone for your visits, comments and friendship.

Four years ago almost to the day I began photography, and the first concept I wanted to do when I started was the one above. I had no idea how. I had no idea how to figure out how...it was all a mystery. I did so many other pictures since then that I was able to work through, but this was the first idea I ever had and it felt out of reach. Finally last year I practiced it and liked the outcome, but just tried to redo it and decided to share. There are so many awesome pictures of cross-sections by editing masters, so I have come to learn since my original thoughts went into the conception of this image (like Aaron Nace - wow, awesome!!) but to me, if something was original to *you*, then you should pursue it, and so I did...a 4-year itch has been scratched for me.
To see the process of creating this picture (including 8 "before" pictures to make the "after") head over to my new blog post.

With great expecation of a spectacular sunset quickly dashed by a large band of cloud on the horizon I got out my 10 stop ND which I knew would warm everything up and add another layer of interest. I set up right on the warters edge and shot with an exposure time of 347 seconds which allowed the incoming waves to move the seaweed about giving the foreground an odd look. As it was getting dark very quickly I knew I had to start lengthening the exposure but the waves were starting to slap against the tripod so I stopped the exposure knwoing it would be underexposed a bit but I actually like the effect of the vignette. On the RAW file and my edited master I just cannot get rid of the banding occouring in the sky from the colour transitions - the tug of a film system becomes stronger!
there is a good 54 crop in there too, what d'you think?
This is a fun trick. You need two people, a camera on a tripod with a timer, and a mirror. Set up model in the shot with the mirror. Then start the count down. The other person outside of the frame, look into the mirror until you can see the cameras reflection in the mirror. If you can see the camera, the camera can see you. You'll look like an editing master!!
Please check out the other side of this shoot, shot by the Model in this picture Esther Tuttle!! She is super cool, so please check out her stream here: www.flickr.com/photos/18370365@N05/

Final ad campaign for the DVD release of the restored 1987 film VIDEO VIOLENCE
"When acquiring a vintage film for distribution, the first step is to do an inventory of materials. Writer/director Gary Cohen’s office is a short distance from my studio and he was kind enough to deliver the materials personally. In the oversized box were dozens of Sony U-Matics (a broadcast tape format that was introduced in 1971). The Sony U-Matic was solid, durable and was heavily used for shooting news on video through the 1990s. Unfortunately, the box did not contain any edited master tapes. According to Gary they were lost during the “VHS distribution” days. Luckily, there was a VHS copy of the film in the box."

Haldi ceremony is the most colorful one, it brings all fun, enthusiasm and laughter to each one them who is involved. We have earlier shared with you the most amazing haldi ceremony ideas like having a hadi dress code, picking up a theme for the ceremony and dressing up that way. These all things can add up a little extra quirk to all your haldi photographs.
Talking about haldi ceremony pictures, it should be filled with love, laughter, lot of fun and candidness because that’s what a good wedding picture all about. Candid photographs have a power to keep the memories fresh throughout the life. This was the very first music video I produced with a lot of help from friends. I recently uncovered the VHS copy of 3/4" edit. I wrote the song in 1975, my first year in California after driving a cab in NYC for the last 5. It was also my first MIDI project with this mix produced at Santa Monica College with the help of then video engineer, Gary Geller. I played all instruments and sang the off key delivery of the lyric, written in 20 minutes, at Fidelity Studios waiting room. I was there because Jimmy Calvert and Norman Marzano were laying some tracks. After the 8 track mix was made (I still have the 1 inch tape), Gary, Liza Pharow and Harry Rosenfield; my first cyber pal met via a BBS, played a part many years later in person... and myself headed to Joshua Tree - to the Integratron in my beloved Dodge, white tradesman van that served as home on wheels for 12 years in LA and One on Maui.
After recording the footage of us playing around without a storyboard (and with the stuffed banana we found by the side of the road).
Production:
Special (posthumus) thanks go to Ralph Fairweather without whom, this video would not have been made. He is survived by his son, whom he left after a sudden passing at the time he was KING OF FINAL CUT users groups in LA. He'd brought his Amiga Computer to the video edit suite so I could make and animate the Computer Graphics. He did the tape op and editing, some of the recording of cgi was live (the camel's dancing) most other was frame by frame recording onto 3/4 inch. Unfortunately the VHS copy is full of chroma aberration and drop out. I have yet to stumble upon the 3/4 inch edit master. 03/10/11
This clip is with English sub titles. Language is Dutch. Journalists Thomas Rijsman and Nils Adriaans talk to Marcel Luske
It is my first attempt with the 5D MKll in a kind of guerilla shoot in Las Vegas.
One saturday afternoon produced this video as a web documentary. It is a portrait of pokerstar Marcel Luske (The Flying Dutchman, known for his poker song "Give a little bit, give a little bit of your chips to me"). He reflects on his life and comes to the conclusion that he owes his family because of the time invested in playing and being on te road so much. The Las Vegas part was shot with Canon 5D Mk ll, the Amsterdam part was shot with JVC GY HD 110. Edited in FCP7. Clips were transcoded to ProRes 422(HQ) with Streamclip before editing. Other software used was Pluraleyes to sync the external sound.
Due to the use of the 5D all was shot at 30 fps. Not displayed here is a 25 fps version, I succesfully created by using Denver Riddle's suggested workflow shown on Vimeo by Philip Bloom. Edit master is ProRes 422 (HQ). Uploaded H264 copy to Vimeo.
Music track is called Wind of Summer, composed by Jack Francis and was found in the library of Shockwave-sound.com
Watch this video on Vimeo. Video created by Tom Poederbach.

**I was also thinking, just to throw this out here. I'm at a point where I would love some more constructive criticism about my photography in general. All of my contacts are so sweet with nice comments and such but for the most part I don't know if they are just being nice. I would love some tips, tricks, and ideas of what I should work on when it comes to my photography. My husband Josh has been awesome when it comes to being honest about things I need to work on in my photos (he is like the editing master...and totally looks at things differently than I do). I would really love to hear what you guys really think----- Thank you!

This is the first proper shot taken with my new camera (: LOVE IT! Can't wait to get out and use it properly. Had a bit of an editing master class with Julian Beattie this afternoon as well, so thanks a bunch Julian!!

I've been looking for this tape for a long time. I want to make a DVD and also put the Back To the Future spoof video online. It's hilarious. This is an S-VHS edited master, and the papers are the cue points for each show section, including the songs used.
Original live show date was April 18, 1992.
P.S. - Obviously I took this photo at home in Orlando, FL, but I chose to set the map location to where Festival Studios was located at the time, at the college in Tennessee.
