The chandelier (lámpada) in the lobby of the Banespa building (the little used formal name of the building is Edificio Altino Arantes) in downtown Sampa.
Some figures are to mind-boggling not to mention them: the lámpara is 15 m high and has a diameter of 2m and is made of 10.000 pieces of ‘national crystal’.
It's lit from within by 900 lamps and weighs 1,5 ton.

Na esquina com a Avenida Brasil com Praça da Liberdade, no bairro Savassi, as curvas do Edifício Niemeyer remetem às linhas das montanhas mineiras.
Um dos marcos do modernismo no Brasil, projetado pelo arquiteto brasileiro Oscar Niemeyer, foi um estudo para o ainda maior Edifício Copan em São Paulo (av. Paulista).
O Edifício Niemeyer causa uma ilusão, embora aparente ter uns 20 andares ele tem apenas 8!
Na mesma praça, além desta obra, Niemeyer assina a Biblioteca Pública Municipal (ver outra foto), que alguns insistem em achar linhas retas...

At the corner of Brazil Avenue and Liberdade Square (Freedom Square) in Savassi, Belo Horizonte, the curves of the Niemeyer refer to the lines of the mountains of Minas Gerais.
One of the landmarks of modernism in Brazil, designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer was a study for further Copan building in Sao Paulo (Paulista Av).
The Building Niemeyer cause an illusion, despite appearing to be about 20 stories he has only 8!
In the same square Niemeyer sign the Municipal Public Library (see another photo), which some insist on finding straight lines ...

Edificio Neorenacentista inaugurado en 1911. Sobre la cúpula de pizarra y adornos dorados "estilo Pompier, -bombero en francés-" una estatua "La Victoria Alada" dirige su vista hacia la Puerta de Alcalá.
Anteriormente este edificio perteneció a otra aseguradora, la Unión y el Fenix y sobre su cúpula posaba otra escultura (un Fenix alado) que ahora se encuentra en la actual sede de la compañía de seguros en Castellana y que fué sustituida por la actual Victoria Alada. Es uno de los edificios más bellos de Madrid.
