Our first stop in Door County, Wisconsin was to check out this wonderful red lighthouse. And of course the stop wasn't complete until I got Jackie to pose on this "perching post thingy!" As we can see from the image in the comments, she is a much nimbler percher than her mom!! {looks nice in the lightbox}!

Happy Bokeh Wednesday!
Coming upon this view at Vernal Falls from the Mist Trail was an emotional moment for me. I first laid eyes upon this surreal and moving scene in 1988. My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in Yosemite ... and I remember that trip like it was yesterday! He took a picture standing from this same spot with our old Olympus 35mm camera loaded with black and white film. He framed and matted it himself and it still hangs on our wall to this day (photo in comments). Pure memory and nostalgia to see it again and as much as I like my colorful image with the perfect rainbow, I like his shot so much more.
What really added to the moment was that as I sat on the icy, misty trail I reflected on the events of the past few days, wishing all of my Flickr Friends were there with me. I feel all teary-eyed right now, thinking of the wonderful people that I met. How meeting all of them in person was so much more than I could have possibly hoped for ... wishing I lived in California again. What really blew me away was the instant camaraderie ... and witnessing all of these fabulous & talented photographers in action was a sight to behold. I am honored to have met all of them!

Droppin' in to say 'hey' to my favorite group! Jackie and I are still on our road trip, and currently hanging out with Kacey & Aurelia in Portland. Love those girls, love their city! They have been gracious hosts and we've had so much fun sight seeing, hiking, eating great meals, having lively discussions on Flickr, Photography and Photoshop .... all accompanied by tasty beverages of course!! :-)
All of us are heading to the coast tomorrow for a couple of days. I can't wait to set my feet in the Pacific again!
This image was taken just before sunrise, out on the boardwalk at Fountain Paint Pot in the Lower Geyser Basin. The Nikon shots are most epic ... and one of the coolest shots was of a bear strolling across the basin in the distance!!
I took this with Camera+ and slid it around a bit on my iPhone with ColorVu! A few of you may have already seen this on Instagram!!

Due to boneheads using Flash (it doesn't help..) from all over the room, they had a fairly strict NO Camera policy going on.
