The Full Lunar Eclipse as seen from Southern NSW Australia

Lunar eclipse on the morning of December 10, 2011.

Nikon D5100 with 70-300mm zoom at 300mm f5.6 setting, ISO 200, 1 second exposure.

Our version of the eclipse was a tad disappointing as where I am was probably about 50 kms out of optimum range. The sky got a little darker for about 10 minutes or so and then back to normal.

However, I think the cloud on the right is kind of cool, resembling maybe a giant rat.

We're Here looks at Nature today and I made a somewhat valiant effort at trying to catch the eclipse here in southern Ontario. And no I didn't fly my Lear Jet up to Nova Scotia!

Alright, it's not a real solar eclipse but it kinda looked like one to me after I snapped this pic while walking home after voting. Any guesses as to what it is? Anyway, I wasn't trying to make a political statement with the photo, although in retrospect to me, it feels a tad appropriate. November 8, 2016

hey guys!here we are!now we know the complete eclipse cast!im so excited!!!!!please comment:)

An lunar eclipse totally covered by clouds. Fail.

My best view of the eclipse, March 2015.

A view of the Eclipse, taken at a cloudy Horning....

Perfectly clear to the south, perfectly clear to the north. Perfectly dense ribbon of cloud cover exactly over the house. The only thing that makes these images interesting is that I could NOT actually see the eclipse with my eyes. These are taken on a high ISO with a 10 second exposure, so we're seeing THROUGH the clouds. I couldn't get a decent focus, not being able to actually see anything to focus on, and I had to guestimate where it actually was. Bummer, but at least my camera got to see it

;) :P

Did anyone else shoot the eclipse with a pinhole camera!? I brought my solar puck camera and a stake. I did a test shot the day before the eclipse to get it right. The white line is the path of the sun that day, with it dimming out during the eclipse. I composited-in a separate shot of totality, and a foreground shot taken with my Canon 6DM2.

Esto es todo lo que pude lograr con el eclipse, no es mucho, pero bueno...nunca había fotografiado uno, por ser el primero me conformo. ;o))

Eclipse EA500 of Channel jets taxing for GAT at Edinburgh

I was able to record this video with my cell phone. Unfortunately I couldn't be in the exact place to get the photo I needed, but it's something.

I hope that in 28 years (I will be 60), luck will be better.... if we have not disappeared from the face of the Earth.

It's cloudy here today.

They said that this was the most long-lasting eclipse in 20th century! :)

Eclipse Lunar Parcial - 16 de Mayo Año 2022 - Copenhague

There was no eclipse on Earth, today, but there was one in Earth orbit. More than 22,000 miles above the planet's surface, NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory watched the Moon pass almost directly in front of the sun.

Beyond the novelty of observing a such an event from space, these images have practical value to the SDO science team. Karel Schrijver of Lockheed-Martin's Solar and Astrophysics Lab explains: "The very sharp edge of the lunar limb allows us to measure the in-orbit characteristics of the telescope--e.g., light diffraction on optics and filter support grids. Once these are characterized, we can use that information to correct our data for instrumental effects and sharpen up the images to even more detail."

Lunar eclipse on 26th June 2010 around 8:30pm in Singapore

Taken with a telescope. Sorry for the slight blurriness as I still have problems focusing and the fast moving moon forced a high ISO setting(the telescope doesn't have track capability)

Got to see a couple of sunspots, but we did not get to see a great deal more of the eclipse at Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary. Soon after this was taken, the heavens opened and the thunder and lightning were the only drama.

I don't think the wolves noticed the lack of daylight as the eclipse neared its peak - they just thought it was a really bad storm, which it was! 😮

Back to the Mexico City series soon....

This fourth lunar eclipse of the "tetrad" took place on September 27, 2015. It is referred to as the "supermoon" because of the proximity of the moon to earth and its exceptionally large appearance. Patzer Waterfowl Production Area near Kulm, ND provided a beautiful, cloudless night during which to view the eclipse by.

It is fascinating how the moon starts to disappear and then turns bright red. Taken with my first digital camera strapped onto a bird watching telescope.
