Round 3 - Hussein Chalayan Inspired

Hussein Chalayan is one of the main avant-garde contemporary fashion designers. He concentrates on trying to transmits his message and inspiration to his viewer by focusing on design, material and presentation. These are the three key elements that are visible in all his designs. He finds inspiration in life and is constantly paying attention to the environment that surrounds him. He makes fashion Art. Chalayan incorporated a relation to architectural, geometry and urban-life into his designs.

Diamond inspiration for this dress were a combinations of Hussein Chalayan's different collections. She focuses and try to capture The Remote Control Dress which was designed by means of the composite technology used by aircraft engineers, mirroring the systems that enable airplanes to fly. The dress structure gives a well-defined hourglass shape that incorporates principles of corsetry, emphasizing a conventionally feminine shape. The texture of the skirt was inspired from his Sparkling Laser Dress where light reflected and exploding from crystals. Diamond added a jacket which resembles a padded headrest from an aeroplane interior which was part of his Echoform collection. To complete Diamond styling, she wears a headpiece and jewelry which symbolises the big bang, the beginning of the universe collection.

Hussein Chalayan was described by Vogue as Fashion's arch avant-gardist and this shows in Diamond's overall styling in this challenge.
