Wikipedia: The crab-eating macaque (Macaca fascicularis), also known as the long-tailed macaque and referred to as the cynomolgus monkey in laboratories, is a cercopithecine primate native to Southeast Asia. A species of macaque, the crab-eating macaque has a long history alongside humans; it has been alternately seen as an agricultural pest, sacred animal in some temples, and more recently, the subject of medical experiments.

"Rusty" How can you eat that mini-sandwich? ... Silly question ... I watched him eat the one he's about to enjoy and before he departed to wherever he goes he proceeded to eat the other one.

Female Northern Harrier

Not my best shot, but I thought it still looked cool. Far shot, big crop and heat distortion played a big roll later in the day at Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in Galloway, NJ.

This fascinating Green Iguana was found inside the butterfly farm, of all places. We got quite the show as she made her way along the top lattice, eating leaves, and then climbing down to walk along the foot path. (See pics below)

I was told that her and the male are usually found lounging around in the same spot most of the day and rarely come down to the ground.

A Semipalmated Plover with a freshly caught sand worm for dinner. These are interesting shorebirds to watch as they stay right at the edge of the wash, or slightly in it, scurrying around digging their beaks in the sand. Their success rate is probably less than 25%, but they try so often they are well fed. View large for best sand worm experience! :D

It is Monday. Thank you for stopping by~!

This White-throated Sparrow appeared to be eating a leaf. Hopefully there was an insect on the leaf for a meat course.

It was interesting to watch this little flock of Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) walking across this field eating all the new green grass!

Taken Addo Elephant National Park, Eastern Cape, South Africa.

Addo Elephant National Park is a diverse wildlife conservation park situated close to Port Elizabeth in South Africa and is one of the country's 20 national parks. It currently ranks third in size after Kruger National Park and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. I spent four consecutive days within the park which provided an amazing variety of wildlife.

The red old pot is for garlic butter, on the grill there is Snoek, a Barracuda type fish that is very popular in this country. Bbq is a very strong tradition and lifestyle locally. Usually lamb chops, sausage, steaks, chicken kebabs or flatties, or Snoek. Or any combination of aforementioned, with potato and other salads, also cheese, tomato+onion sandwich roasties.

Thanks so much for the visit!

Large, long-legged bird shaped much like a heron. Gray body, sometimes with intense rusty staining. Adults have red crown. Often in large flocks at migration and wintering concentration points. Favors marshes and agricultural fields where they eat primarily grains. In flight, neck is outstretched, unlike herons with tucked necks. Snappy wingbeats. Listen for far-carrying bugling call. A surprise find for an early Spring morning. This small flock of Sandhill Cranes flew up the river on their way to their breeding territories a little further north.

This is one egg eating crow. Several times I've seen crow and other birds with eggs, which I think are turtle eggs but I'm not sure. If anyone has any information, feel free to chime in. I've seen crows hard at it digging into the ground, and I suspected that this was what they were after. Surprisingly, the egg doesn't crack in their beak, and they are able to fly with it. If anyone can also confirm my identification of this as an American Crow, Corvus brachyrhynchos, please do so. Thanks

Thank you all who fave and comment on my photo'/video's,much appreciated. And thank you all for looking.

In our area the first time I saw this behaviour was in '14 towards the end of a brutal winter that saw our Great Lakes frozen at 97% of all surface area. Many birds were starving and I was going to the river almost every day and one day I observed this Swan checking out a dead fish floating. To my surprise it began to eat it. Within a week others were including the Mallards and Geese. Some just kept doing it.

It's a rainy day and so I didn't take any new cat photos but decided to post an older capture of Charlie Brown taken in August when he stayed with us. Of all the toys he found in our house, Olaf the snowman was one of his favourites. I'm not sure if Olaf enjoyed the encounter as Charlie always bit him in his nose…..

I was out taking photos this morning after a light snowfall overnight. I saw Snoopy high up in the old pine tree coming down from one of its favorite spots. Lucky for Snoopy, I did put some peanuts out right before that. Does this squirrel look like it needs anymore to eat? They're all wearing their winter coats the past few months.
