Henschel EA 500 Industriemuseum "Henrichshütte" Hattingen

 

Die Henschel EA 500 ist eine in zwei Exemplaren gebaute Elektrolokomotive. Sie ist für Fahrleitungs- und Batteriebetrieb ausgerüstet. Die beiden 1966 gebauten Lokomotiven wurden von der Rheinstahl-Bergbau AG für das neu elektrifizierte Netz der Prosper-Zechen beschafft und als E 9 und E 10 eingereiht. Sie haben eine Stunden-Leistung von 360 Kilowatt. Die Typbezeichnung ist von der entsprechenden PS-Leistungsklasse übernommen.

 

Die EA 500 ist in einer Art Baukastenprogramm entstanden. Die weiteren Loks dieses Programms sind die dreiachsige EA 800 mit 540 Kilowatt und die vierachsige Drehgestelllokomotive EA 1000 mit 540 Kilowatt Leistung.

 

Mit Gründung der Ruhrkohle AG gingen die Loks 1970 an die RAG – Ruhrkohle AG, Zechenbahn- und Hafenbetriebe Ruhr-Mitte. Sie wurden in E 489 und E 490 umgezeichnet. Die E 489 verunfallte 1972 und wurde 1977 verschrottet. Die verbliebene Lok wurde 1983 in 290 umgezeichnet und 1997 abgestellt. Sie ging 1999 an das Westfälische Industriemuseum und befindet sich auf dem Gelände der Henrichshütte in Hattingen.

Henschel EA 500 Industrial Museum "Henrichshütte" Hattingen

 

The Henschel EA 500 is an electric locomotive built in two copies. It is equipped for catenary and battery operation. The two locomotives, built in 1966, were procured by Rheinstahl-Bergbau AG for the newly electrified network of the Prosper collieries and classified as E 9 and E 10. They have an hourly output of 360 kilowatts. The type designation is taken from the corresponding horsepower class.

 

The EA 500 was created in a kind of modular program. The other locomotives in this program are the three-axle EA 800 with 540 kilowatts and the four-axle bogie locomotive EA 1000 with 540 kilowatts of power.

 

When Ruhrkohle AG was founded in 1970, the locomotives went to RAG - Ruhrkohle AG, Zechenbahn- und Hafenbetriebe Ruhr-Mitte. They were re-designated E 489 and E 490. The E 489 had an accident in 1972 and was scrapped in 1977. The remaining locomotive was re-designated 290 in 1983 and parked in 1997. It went to the Westphalian Industrial Museum in 1999 and is located on the grounds of the Henrichshütte in Hattingen.
