Der Phosphatverkehr zwischen den Minen in Ben Guerir und Youssoufia und der OCP-Chemiefabrik, bzw. dem Hafen von Safi wird derzeit noch ausschließlich mit ONCF E-Loks der Reihe E1100 (Hitachi) abgewickelt. Die beiden Personenzugpaare der Strecke sind Einsatzgebiet der ebenfalls von Hitachi stammenden ONCF-Reihe E1250.

Eine knappe halbe Stunde vor Sonnenuntergang konnte am Abend des 14.02.2025 bei Soualem noch ein beladener Phosphatzug aus Youssoufia oder Ben Guerir nach Safi fotografiert werden. Im Hintergrund sind die Häuser und Industrieanlagen von Youssoufia zu erkennen.

The phosphate traffic between the mines in Ben Guerir and Youssoufia and the OCP chemical plant and the port of Safi is currently hauled exclusively with ONCF class E1100 (Hitachi) electric locomotives. The two pairs of passenger trains on that line are running with ONCF class E1250, also from Hitachi.

Just half an hour before sunset, a loaded phosphate train from Youssoufia or Ben Guerir to Safi was photographed near Soualem on the evening of February 14, 2025. The houses and industrial facilities of Youssoufia can be seen in the background.

One of 10 E class electric locos built for Victorian Railways between 1928 and 1929,

E1109 undergoes long term restoration into working order at the Newport Workshops on 28-2-13.

Four of the E class have made it into preservation, E1102, E1106, E1108 and E1109

Between 1928 and 1929 Victorian Railways built 10 of the box cab type variety of electric E class locomotives at the Newport Workshops numbered E1102 and E1111. Delivered in all black, they were painted in the VR Blue and Gold scheme from 1965 on.

All units were withdrawn between 1981 and 1984 with four making it to preservation.
