The original Plymouth Duster is a semi-fastback two-door version of the compact-sized Plymouth Valiant automobile that was marketed by Plymouth in the U.S. from 1970 to 1976 model years.

The Duster was not changed significantly for 1972. New surface-mount sidemarker lights replaced the previous flush-mount items, the taillamps became larger, one-piece units. The power rating of the 340 V8 was reduced from 275 bhp (205 kW) to 245 bhp (183 kW) due in part to a reduction in compression ratio from 10.2:1 to 8.5:1, as well as changing the intake valves from 2.02 in (51 mm) to 1.88 in (48 mm). All horsepower rating numbers, even on unchanged engines, decreased for 1972 due to a new rating protocol. Chrysler's electronic ignition became standard on the 340 models in 1972.

Calliandra californica

Species of legume

Calliandra californica, the Baja fairy duster, is an evergreen, woody shrub, native to Baja California, Mexico. In Spanish, the plant is also known vernacularly as tabardillo, zapotillo[2] or chuparosa.[3] The flowers, which appear in early summer, have clusters of red stamens. The shrub is usually 0.6–1.8 metres (2 ft 0 in – 5 ft 11 in) in height and has bipinnate leaves. The leaves have been described as "fern-like."[4] Leaves close at night time.[5]

Quick Facts Scientific classification, Binomial name ...

Calliandra californica is cold tolerant to temperatures of 22 °F (−6 °C),[5] though its roots will tolerate temperatures as low as 5 °F (−15 °C).[6] It grows best in full sun.[5] C. californica is very drought tolerant, needing only 10 inches (250 mm) of water every year.[6] However, additional watering will encourage C. californica to bloom through summer and again in the fall.[6]

Propagation of C. californica is done through "acid scarification" or vegetative cutting.[5] Seed pods from this plant look like "snow peas" and when ripe, they explode.[4] The pods are flat and about 2 inches (51 mm) long.[6] After ejecting seeds, the curled open pods remain attached to the plant for some time.[7]

Calliandra californica attracts both bees and hummingbirds.[5]

Along with many other legumes and leadworts (Plumbago),[8] it is a host plant for the Marine Blue caterpillar (Leptotes marina).[9]

In landscaping, it is suggested that C. californica is used in borders or foreground plantings, as an island accent or even in containers.[6]

All of the sudden I spotted a Renault Duster last week.... It's one of eight Dusters registered as Renault in the Netherlands. Over here this generation of the Duster was sold as a Dacia from 2009 until 2017. In Russia the Renault version was built until 2021.

I love the buttons of this coat! The whole inspiration for this piece started with the buttons actually. I wanted to make something that used them and this is the result.

A nice blue Duster from 1972, this one is actually powered by the 225 ci Slant 6 engine, same engine that powered the Valiant, which the Duster was based on :)

I've seen this one before, but this time it's better visible. It's a second generation Renault Duster, on the market since 2020. It's a badge-engineered version of the Dacia Duster, introduced in 2017. As a Renault it was built in Russia from 2021 until the economic sanctions after the invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

... war es an diesem Tag überhaupt nicht in Meran. Umso mehr fiel mir diese Stelle an der Tappeiner Promenade ins Auge.

Not one of the more popular vintage Mopars... but a Mopar nonetheless.

1970 Plymouth Duster. One of the coolest A-Body Mopar muscle cars! I love the overall shape of the body on these cars and have tried really hard to capture it here in the brick.

I saw this Plymouth Duster 340 at a local car show and immediately recognized it as the same model and color from the Cars “Heartbeat City” album. I even got pretty close to the same angle from memory.

I think this is a wild turkey feather, guess you would have to be a turkey to know for sure.
