My first car way back in the day... a 1972 with a 318 4 barrel with a 19 yr old kid behind the steering wheel. That thing BOOGIED!
The starter used to burn out once a month for whatever reason but it took me about 10 minutes underneath to put another in and I replaced quite a few of them. These older cars were so nice to work on as my hands were actually able to fit in just about anywhere they needed to go to replace parts and no diagnostic computers were needed as they weren`t so computer/electronically advanced like the cars of today. How frustrated i was when i bought a 1993 4Runner and HAD to take it to the service center for diagnostics! Like what the hell does an oxygen sensor do and why does it cost 300$ to replace it!?
