Christian Dunker nasceu em São Paulo, em 1966 e estudou no Colégio Visconde de Porto Seguro[6]. Formou-se em Psicologia pela Universidade de São Paulo em 1989, onde frequentou também os cursos de Filosofia e Ciências Sociais. Envolveu-se com a reconstrução democrática desta universidade, participando da fundação do Centro Acadêmico Iara Iavelberg, sendo seu primeiro diretor geral no período da abertura política [7]. Desde 1990 articula prática clínica e docência universitária, tendo lecionado em várias universidades paulistas. É mestre[8] e doutor [9] em Psicologia pela USP. Realizou pós-doutorado em 2001, supervisionado por Ian Parker[10] e Erica Burman[11], na Manchester Metropolitan University[12], pelo qual foi laureado como “Pesquisa Inovadora em Crítica e Linguagem”. Em 2004 torna-se professor do Departamento de Psicologia Clínica [13] do Instituto de Psicologia da Universidade de São Paulo[14]. Em 2007 defende tese de Livre Docência, publicada na Inglaterra [15] e no Brasil[16]. É Psicanalista Membro da Escola dos Fóruns do Campo Lacaniano (A.M.E.)[17] com ativa participação na disseminação do pensamento de Jacques Lacan no Brasil. Junto com Vladimir Safatle e Nelson da Silva Jr. fundou o Laboratório de Teoria Social, Filosofia e Psicanálise da USP (Latesfip-USP).

Dunker Church
The church was originally built in 1852 on land donated by Samual Mumma by the German Baptist Brethren. They were known as Dunkers or Dunkards for their practice of baptism by full immersion. The Dunkers were pacifists who believed in simplicity and modesty, which included not placing a steeple on their meeting place. The church was the the center of some of the hardest fighting at Antietam, its whitewashed walls an objective visible through the gun smoke. During and after the battle the church became a haven for the wounded.
The church survived the battle but was destroyed by a storm in 1921. Its materials were stored and preserved. For many years a lunch stand catering to battlefield visitors stood on the foundations. For the 100th anniversary of the battle in 1962 the church was rebuilt and restored to its 1860s appearance using many of the original materials.
