Founded in 1592 by Queen Isabella I, Trinity College is Ireland's oldest university, located in the historic center of the city.
Located in the center of Dublin and built on an ancient Augustinian monastery, the campus occupies an area of 190,000 square metres, a true oasis of peace for students.
Initially it was a university only for Protestants, but from 1793 it began to admit Catholic students.
Throughout history, Trinity College has also seen those lucky students pass through its halls who became prominent personalities, such as Samuel Beckett, Bram Stoker, Oscar Wilde or Edmund. Trinity College Library has the best collection of manuscripts and printed books in Ireland. Since 1801 it has received a copy of all the works published in Ireland and Great Britain, which is why it now houses almost three million books within its eight buildings.
