PH-DTK DC-10-30 Philippine Airlines.
Despite being Dutch registered, she went to PAL straight after delivery and stayed with them until May 1984.
Most probably arriving here for a heavy maintenance visit with Swissair and repaint into Thai colors who used her until 1985 when sold to American.

Following painting ITA Airways A320 EI-DTK departed to Rome today unfortunately the sun did not obliege.
The first ex Alitalia aircraft to be painted by IAC at Shannon in the full ITA Airways scheme A320-216 EI-DTK was rolled out 11/2/22

Philippine Airlines (PAL)
PH-DTI is coming in to land on Riem’s runway 07. This DC-10-30 was seen a lot at Riem in 1979 operating KLM flights. I have sightings for 24/25 February, 2/3 June (KLM sticker), 7/8 July 14/15 July, 15/16 September and 15 October of that year. The slide here was dated July 1977, though.

PH-DTI c/n 46933 - McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 had a very varied life! Delivered new to KLM in June 1974 but leased out immediately to Philippine Airlines, joined later by PH-DTK. The aircraft flew for 10 years with PAL before going to Aloha Pacific Airlines in 1984 as N801AL. The aircraft was sold to SAS just a year later as OY-KDB and flew with them until 1990. After a short time with World Airways as N109WA, the aircraft changed identity again, becoming 9M-MAZ with Malaysia Airlines. After short leases to LOT Poland and back to World Airways again, the aircraft ended up with Ghana Airways as 9G-ANC in 2000. However, the airline went into liquidation around this time and the aircraft was impounded at Rome airport. Sadly the aircraft never flew again, and was broken up by 2006.

My very first ITA, looks good and very Italian! Itarrow 324 vacating 26L after the afternoon service from Rome.
