3/16/14-- am using this for a wild card again for push/pull- scavenger16, since that is actually the title of the picture ~grin~. had an idea but am not sure i have the time to set it up......
btb, i can't believe that this has never gotten even one fav!!!

10/16/12.....am using this for my wild card for scavenger14 "old cars RIP", cause there is no way i am going to be able to top this one ~grin~ also it gives those who have never seen it an opportunity :):)
revived for ODT-- coming or going, cause bob (aka light collector) gave me the inspiration :):)
ourdailytopic: aged (3/6)........... so i guess that something which has been saved from a car crusher, is rusted and has been made into a piece of art could be considered aged, right?
apologies to those who have already experienced this one ~ggg~

#ds84 Challenge: Practice story telling today. Look for 3 images that tell a story and make a set of photos that go together.
obviously someone has a sense of humor, a welding tool, 2 similar discarded cars, and a desire to make something unusual/artistic. this is in bellingham, MA, off rt 140. the car on the left faces nominally east, the car on the right faces west and the car on the bottom is the two of them welded together. no, i don't know enough about photoshop elements to "create" this-- it *really* IS a melded car :):)
this is my FIRST attempt at photoshop elements, aka PSE (**whoo-hoo**), other than trying to get rid of a balloon that looked like it was growing out of someone's head. took these pictures twice but couldn't figure out how to make them into a collage for #ds84. got brave this morning and muddled through.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
reprising this picture (for trash talk tuesday on 3/1/11) cause i just love it.........am not sure that this actually counts as trash or "art". someone actually took the time to find similar abandoned cars, cut them, weld them and then place it in a corner lot which someone mows on a major state road. maybe we can look at it as former trash that someone has artfully recycled???
couldn't resist sharing it with you guys, tho :):)
(if you give me a bye this week, i promise i'll go back to cans and plastic cup covers next week, ok? :) ~ggg~
HTTT :):)
This weekend my daughter participated in the Sarah tournament in Erie PA.The 16th annual tournament is dedicated to Sarah Backstrom, a hockey player, who lost her fight to leukemia.
Tournament officials are an important part of an event like this. They put in long hours before and during the event. From the standpoint of a parent it seemed like a well run event. Here an official oversees the girls as they come in and sign an official roster.
When we go to hockey games we're always hoping for a good rink. My standards for what makes a good hockey rink differ from what my daughter would consider a good rink. I think a rink is good if it offers a comfortable warming room, good coffee, heaters in the stands, clean glass, and it's great if it has free wi-fi! My daughter would consider it a good rink if it's real cold, has hard ice, and fair refs.
Tournaments always offer a way to spend some extra money. T-shirts, sweatshirts and photos are always for sale. This tournament did not have the typical 50/50 or raffle baskets. The photos can be viewed and purchased online once the tournament is over.
This is a story about a mom who wants to make beautiful cookies for her son's school Valentine's Day party....so she practices....and has so-so results. (She's never satisfied with her efforts!) Next time, she'll take a look at those Flickr photos of beautiful cookies for inspiration, and she'll sketch out what she wants to do. And family says it's fine - just keep practicing. They'll happily eat those practice cookies. :-)
I've been seeing a lot of this chalkboard art work lately and wanted to try it out... So I thought this technique would be great for HA challenge this month... new technique plus ATC as that's what my chalkboard started as... I also used the Deconstructed sketch. to make my card. This is a typical story of my Sundays during exam week. Lots of procrastination and online distraction while the messy piles of papers loom behind the computer. And finally, I manage to discipline myself, and with the help of lots of coffee, get down to it. And I feel so much better and more energetic after getting through the first pile, too!
The Daily Shoot #84: Pet photos are such a cliche, but they're also cute. Make an interesting photo of a pet today.
The "downtown" of Casselman has moved. With the opening of bigger stores, like Canadian Tire, commerce has moved away from the centre and closer to the highway. These stores serve the small towns nearby and offer jobs to the locals, albeit low-paying jobs. The town has lost its character.
During our annual Royal Ranger meeting we had some cake today. Thought this might make for a nice story... My wife's cousin handed me the cake. Pictures taken with iPhone 3Gs again.
The first time I used Aperture's Book layout function. Quite nice! However, I couldn't find a possibility to just export one page as a JPG file... I had to make a screenshot...
I also have a runner up picture again... Another strange habit of mine as a story.
Mike McDermott: Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in the first half hour at the table, then you ARE the sucker.
Mike McDermott: If you had it to do all over again, knowing what would happen, would you make the same choice?
Professor Petrovsky: What choice?
during a workshop @ www.dazzle.fi/ . The event will have a long term effect on my behaviour.
Two things that Nina Laine highlighted:
-EVERY relationship at a work-place has either a connective or braking effect on the performance - we either help each other or not.
-Attitude is built by ETHICS and MORAL - I take this as one of next blogging challenges - how are my ethics and moral? How are yours?
