When I decided to do a wineglass with water picture, I'd originally planned to drop some sort of item and try to catch the moment of impact. However, the only thing "interesting" that I could come up with were some of my wife's Gummy Bear candies. That selection was made even less interesting because the only colors she hadn't eaten were the yellow and orange ones.
Anyway, then I got the idea of just catching the water pour and then I was hooked. It got kind of addicting trying "one more time" to see what action I'd capture. (The fun was tempered by the work of drying out the wineglass between shots, however. ;-) )
This shot was made using my 70-200mm lens @ 95mm with a 12mm extension tube, against a white background. The color came from a Rosco #2001 "Storaro Red" gel placed on my flash.
The image was processed in Lightroom.
Strobist: Vivitar 285HV, 1/16 power, to the left of the glass lighting the background. It was flagged to prevent direct lighting of the glass (i.e. the glass is back-lit by the background). Triggered with Cactus remote.

After a long week at work, my creative juices just weren't flowing. So I decided to squeeze a lemon and see if anything would come out.
This was fun to shoot. I first did the shot without the lemon present and was processing the original picture and about to post it here. Then I started writing the description and stated "JUICES"; then the vision of a lemon came to my head. Thankfully I didn't tear down my setup yet and back to shooting I went. Had to put camera on a timer so I could have two free hands, one for the lemon and other to drop food coloring.
Enjoy and remember to comment and critique.

Our little Pepper is 12 years old and at her last Vet appointment they said she was obese...so on a diet she went. She has successfully lost some kg but has a few more to go to be at her ideal weight.
We now control her food intake with this feeding ball she chases around, takes her about 10 mins to eat her food.

Just gentle motion as the snow flakes drifted down.
There was a fire on the slopes of Table Mountain next to UCT and there were 2 helicopters dropping water on the fire. It looks like a US Army helicopter - not sure if that is correct.

Boy, I'm really unhappy with the shot today. I spent most of the evening trying to capture motion blur in a falling apple but was not successful.
I then had half an hour before midnight, so I shot some kitchen cleaner being sprayed, lighting it from a strobe off camera right.
Note to self. Must do better.

Yes it was raining, just in case your missed that
After seeing a photo from one of my contacts (I'll link it in the comments), I wanted to try to do a food coloring shot myself. I only had gel food coloring, so I had to dilute it a bit. I had already poured in some green and blue and then I poured in a bit more blue for this shot.
This is in a wine glass (a LARGE one - which is funny b/c we don't drink wine) and a painting canvas for the white background.

Reunion with some old and dear friends. Used the timer, but the 5 seconds proved to be too quick (or me to be too slow), and I am a motion blur.
Taken with iPhone 3GS mounted on tripod, and using the timer.

I have been looking for an opportunity to try the cool motion shots that dibytes has used on occasion. I actually got several that I liked (and several that were really dull!)

The Puma Store in Block 37, corner of State and Randolph, Chicago. I was standing in front of Borders; you can see the logo reflected in the window.
Overexposure and highlight clipping corrected (or at least correction attempted) in post-processing; image also straightened. This was a case where my initial test photo turned out to be my favorite so I tried to salvage it.

The closest trees are motion-blurred, while the background is more in-focus. Now I just need a good subject! Something I could shoot from a moving vehicle?

We have quite a population of ducks that no longer migrate. Even though the harbour is frozen over, there's open water near the outlet of the sewage treatment plant, and that's where they hang out.
I didn't get as many 'keepers' as usual from my short shoot because my fingers were frozen and the light was awful. I'm getting tired of shooting in, as John King called it, 'available gloom'!
I used my alternate shot for today's 365 pic.

Isn't communication really about transforming the movements within our brains into movements across our brains...?!
"Networks are about sharing now; they used to be about control. Networks are two-way; they used to be one-way. Networks are about aggregation more than distribution; they are about finding and being found. Networks are now open while, by their very definition, they used to be closed. You join networks and leave them them at will; you can join any number of networks at once and content can be found via any number of networks, there is no practical limit. Networks used to be static. Now networks are fluid."
weblogg-ed.com/2006/the-learner-as-network/ said in May 2006 that there was a lot of George Siemens in it.
Something I'm currently badly struggling within my studies. The mandatory closed & static networks. There must be an open way.

Not really movement, because the shots I had planned required daylight, but after playing with a few camera-toss shots in the comfort/safety of the living room, I snapped a few of these.

Yet again i was too busy to upload the shots on the day but here it is. Warm night down here in Adelaide Australia and the old roof fan is still one of the most energy efficient, quietest and best way to sleep through the heat.
This is for @dailyshoot s assignment #ds425 "Let's play with movement today. Get a shot of something in motion. Freeze it or let it blur. It's up to you!". I took about 20 shots here playing with different shutter times and Fstops i think i got it right in the end.
