Warm air + cold water=morning fog. I really liked the tranquility of the harbour this morning - quiet, low light, calm water, muted colours, softened shapes. I think (hope) the thing that spares this shot from being boring is the texture of the ripples in the foreground created by a passing boater.

This is a stitch of eight pictures taken in North Garden VA . I love the scenery out in rural Albemarle County, and we actually have a painting that looks very similar to this picture hanging on the wall. I made it home before the storm hit, but just barely.

Not sure if it really makes for a landscape, but I like how this one turned out, considering the light was not optimal.

This is the lower cliff ruins of Tonto National Monument (http://www.nps.gov/tont/). I thought I was signed up for a tour to the restricted upper ruin, but somehow the dates or information got crossed. This time of year, this is as close as you can get.

while i am not an ardent patriots fan, i was a foxboro resident when we voted to put the stadium on the site. it has changed over the years; and it is so awesomely large, with the auxiliary buildings, that it all won't all comfortably fit in one picture.

Unfortunately sunday didn't mean a lot of time for photography, with exams coming up next week most of my time is occupied with studying. As a bonus the rain have been pouring down all day. Took a short walk and snapped a picture of this though, and old abandoned paint factory. There are plans to level it with the ground to make room for a bunch of apartment houses.

The weather has been overcast and grey and drizzly and uncooperative in my search for landscape loveliness.

I ventured out into the thick of the Rogue River Valley to capture an Ansel Adams-inspired vista of the Lower Table Rock mesa only to be confronted with my lack of technical skill and the resulting muddled image.

I skulked through the back alleys and byways of old town Medford, Oregon in pursuit of a rain-slicked urban scene that evoked a more mysterious and gumshoe-inhabited era only to be met with a regular parade of misplaced SUVs taking wrong turns down the aforementioned back alleys and byways.

I was ready to bag it and begin trudging back to my car when I rounded the corner and found this scene: a hopeful blossom on a promenade of quiet storefronts. It wasn't what I was looking for, but I'm awfully glad I found it.

As a side note, the second storefront down - the one with the wine-colored tiles - is the newly and lovingly renovated W.A. Kenney store from this photo: www.flickr.com/photos/dcosand/4324740768/

Went for a short walk this evening on the beach to get some shots for today's task and look for a geocache (GC146MN, found it). I liked this one best.

PS: I spent about an hour for the sun to get low enought as to get this shot of the city skyline.

From this shot I've learned that I definately need a 70-200mm, since the huge towers I used for a previous de shot, look tiny right in the middle of the photo, and could not do much about it.

This pan is been made from 11 pictures, and tones and tint have been tweaked on postproduction. The sky was a little more blue, but I liked the orange gray from post production.

I'll go flickr pro shortly. The 3000pixels large image on black looks very good.

I was on a golf trip last weekend and so am a bit late with this contribution. The shot was taken at a relatively new golf course just outside of Walla Walla Washington called Wine Valley. Lovely course.

We went out to shoot some nature today on the shore of Lake Ontario. While I managed some decent shots of the beach and shoreline, this flower, growing out of a crack in the rock, caught my eye and I took a dozen or so shots of the flower alone. Wearing shorts precluded kneeling on the rocky shore, so I guestimated the angles and blindly shot away with the macro setting.

When I then noticed my sons wandering in and out of the frame, skipping stones, I decided to go artistic and tried to capture them, out of focus in the background. While I managed several random yet interesting shots, this one is my choice for today's pic, as it turned out to be far more interesting than the seascapes. It was only after I returned home and viewed the image on the monitor that I noticed the bug.

Before the sun shows its direct light on the beach, there's a wonderful mood of newness and renewal - all the better with signs of life from nature, but little from humans! :) 5th Ave N & Gulf of Mexico, Naples, FL

Landscapes had me traveling today, either on foot or in the car to hilly country, a real pleasure, but the best pleasure was in my own backyard afterall!

#ds77 Wherever there's an edge, there's energy. Make a photo where two things meet: land-water, land-sky, etc.

where leaden sky meets trees? landscape? certainly not for #ds189....

i think it's interesting that the telephone wire cuts the pic in half horizontally cause i sure didn't see that when i took the pic. and, crow, i tried *not* centering.

Alcalá de Henares, meaning Citadel on the river Henares, is a Spanish city, whose historical centre is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, and one of the first bishoprics founded in Spain. Located in the Autonomous Community of Madrid, 35 km northeast of the city of Madrid, at an altitude of 588 metres (1929 ft) above sea level, it has a population of around 200,000, the second largest of the region after the Spanish capital itself.

The author Miguel de Cervantes was born in Alcalá de Henares, and baptized in the Church of Santa Maria in 1547, although his family moved from the city when he was still young
