From 2 weeks ago, before the Cincinnati Zoo was closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
All of the Galapagos Tortoises were quite active that morning, moving about all over their area. They look ancient, don't they?
I tried to get an " After Shot " ....but she was so delighted ... she wouldn't stop skipping long enough for me to get it........
Now she thinks she's a star and is planning other enhancements !

We use a well known brand that contains aloe, no off brands, but I use it a lot. I guess it’s back to coating my hands at night with creams and sleeping with cotton gloves on.
Location: Kuching, Borneo.
Its part of the Dusky Wolf Snake, or Dark Wolf Snake complex, inhabits lowland forest and forest-edge settings. This is a terrestrial species and, like most wolf snakes, is typically nocturnal in habits. It reportedly preys on lizards and frogs.
Lepturophis borneensis = Lycodon albofuscus = Lepturophis albofuscus.
Now the dryskins will pay for their crimes against our aquatic brethren.

i let this apple rot on my desk at work for MONTHS. everyone keeps asking when i'm throwing it away and i have to explain i'm saving it for a photo op. iris couldn't stand it anymore and insisted it was time to let go of the apple BUT not before we took this photo.....
and for you teens...this is what happens 45 to 50 years later...old hands and bulging veins not to mention dry skin but that's just the apple.....

since im studyin medicine i thought i might as well work on a new method to check the blood pressure from the neck, i call it the Q method...lol.... jk

My left heel - dry and cracked with a nicely visible (as disappointing as that is) crack in the center that is close to breaking the skin. The rest of the surface is dry and flaky.
I think the kraken has been healing nicely, though it's a little dry. There are just a few small spots that will need a little touching up in a few weeks. And hopefully I can keep myself from picking at those spots when they heal.
My favorite view! I offered her her foot massage. She got sleep and I could take this extraordinary picture.

so i know i could have and probably should have made sure i had soft pretty feet for this shot. but hey, it's michigan in the winter time. so, this is as good as it gets. it's realistic. it's me. the truth is, my skin gets dry in the winter. maybe i'll get a pedicure IF i decide to venture out on this cold cold day. maybe not. most likely the latter. :) well, i made it to day 10 with the 365. lots of fun so far. we'll see how this goes.
oh, i forgot to add that i was going to try to replicate that scene w/ Bo Derek from "10" the movie, but decided i would probably get way too much flickr traffic to handle if i did that. so i opted for the toe shot instead for my 10th day of 365. hahahahhaha!!! :)
That guy should really do something about his dry skin problem.

When I worked in an air-conditioned office, I think I looked like this every day. Which, when I think about it, which I don't, probably explains a lot, of which there isn't.

I had an accident August 21, 2014 in the morning. I was opening a 20 year old vinyl window and the top frame came down instantly as I unlatched it to lift the bottom pane up. My middle finger of my right hand was wedged in the latch assembly and it took a bit to get my finger out. I was by myself but fortunately this was a type of window that the bottom pane tips inward for cleaning if you unlatch a small lever and my left hand was free to unlatch one side and pull my finger out. I amputated and fractured my right middle finger tip. It didn't bleed much due to the crushing. I could fill you all in on the events of that day but I don't want to keep reliving it and just heal so I can go back to work. Got five stitches, needed a splint and antibiotics for the broken bone.
It's been 25 days now and I still need to have a tiny cast protecting the fingertip which tingles still when I just touch it. I have feeling there but it is elevated.
If you've noticed I haven't been posting much lately this is why. With my nine good fingers I am still somewhat able to handle my camera. You don't know what you've got till it's gone. - Dan
