Also called Eristalis Tenax. The female's eyes are separated, whereas the male's meet. They are a bee "look-alike" and can easily be taken for the real thing!

We went for a ride today and Dave took this with his drone down by Elk Rapids. Trees are just starting to turn white. I thought it was a pretty shot of this nice farm.
Drone Fly (Eristalis tenax)
I have seen more of these Drone Flies so far this season than I have seen in previous years.
Back after I pick up the kids from school, for the last time this year, six weeks of Summer holidays start now!
Drone shot of the Hohenzollern Castle in Germany.
Thank you very much for your comments and faves, very much appreciated!
Captured with my Drone - DJI Mini Pro 4; West coast of the Island; limits of Mellieha.
Thank you for your time to view.
Dave flew his drone and captured some images from the west side of the Lighthouse which is incased in ice. This is from the side the waves hit the most. That's allot of ice already but Friday we are to reach up to 45* and if we get some sun this ice will be falling off.
Graz, Eggenberg quarter. Aerial drone photo made by Stefan P., a friend of mine. The baroque castle, mainly built between 1623 and 1655, is a world cultural heritage.

The Drone Fly is another one of those busy and very essential pollinators. It looks like a honey bee so hence its name, drone.
Back to our ubiquitous TR class locos, this time numbers 06 and 14 as they breeze their long train upgrade towards Rogerville with Friday evening's No 32 paper train. The evidence of all our recent rain can be seen here in an area that rarely does get green!.

This one was a bit high up, but I liked the way it looked against the blue sky! HFDF have a great day and weekend ;0)
The Dart River feeds into Lake Wakatipu. You can see some holiday makers who were enjoying jet skiing from the right bank. Thanks for visiting summer down under.
Drone Haven is one of those rare places that feel like a dream made of detail, humor, and heart. Sadly, this unique sim will close its doors on April 13th. If you haven’t been yet – now is the time. If you’ve been – maybe go one last time. I did.

My husband Dave took this DRONE shot.
I'm standing on the end of the pier where I took the previous picture.
I have been visiting Hotaka for over 50 years, but these are my first drone shots of Hotaka. Since rice planting is coming soon, we can also see the paddy fields filled with water. This area is famous for its scenic beauty, but Japan's largest tectonic line, the Itoigawa-Shizuoka tectonic line, runs through it. Taking pictures with a drone allows us to better understand the topography and geography of the area.
Sim Is Open NOW!
If you want to visit the sim, please set windlight to shared environment and turn on landradio to get a maximum immersive feel :)
