This is the first image in a series of three that is of a particular building that caught my eye the other morning. (Thank you to Andrew who inspired me to try this type of photo!)

I used to be so stubborn in my craft, thinking that I always knew best and that to work alone is to be truly happy. I wasn't entirely wrong in those assumptions (though misguided) - I do often know where I want my work to go in a way that is more intimate than anyone else can surmise. I love being by myself, and mostly prefer to work that way...but then I opened up my world to collaboration. What I discovered was this: letting others into our creative world isn't about giving up control or making sacrifices. It is about creating as honestly as possible and letting someone else interpret that honesty. It is about creating art and not dictating where it goes or what it turns into. It is a lesson in what could be.
