Ezekiel 31:3 “Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a forest-like shade, and of high stature; and its top was among the thick boughs.”

26.02.2023. - Dawlish

I was around 15 years old when I found a video on YouTube. It was about a railroad next to the sea, nasty weather, huge waves... this video was shot in the small coastal town of Dawlish. I immediately fell in love with this spot, and decided to visit it once.

Good 15 years later I finally had the possibility to visit the UK for the first time, and obviosuly I had to go for my dreamspot as well...

On a windy Sunday I could spent half a day in the town, eat a proper fish and chips and take some awesome pictures.

On my pic a GWR HST is heading to Cardiff, just a few seconds before the Sun became covered by the clouds...

Utah is amazing. There are so many unique locations.

One of my favorite photos taken this year.

I kept moving from dune to dune looking for a nice ridge pointing toward the sunset and some great ripples to catch the light. I thought I was going to be too late when I spied this dune in the distance. Luckily, I made it to the top just in time to line everything up.

White Sands is a great little park, I hope to return soon and share it with

Kay.

Emerging from the Fog - (click to view full image) - We took a couple early morning boat rides through the Bayou. The first morning we experienced heavy fog. The fog cleared around this tree just long enough for me to take a photo. The lake was hauntingly beautiful.

This visit to Volcano of Capelinhos was really windy that day, the sand scraped my face and beat my hands as I took this picture. It plow sand all over this part of Faial island, where the 1957 ocean eruption had spread lava fields towards land, lasting 13 months and leading to the evacuation of two thousand people from the Capelo parish. The force of mother nature creating new land, is unstoppable.

Nape Nape Beach

Napenape boasts some impressive cliffs of strikingly fine white limestone. These were formed by the deposits of microscopic marine organisms in shallow oceans surrounding a partly emerged and low-lying New Zealand continent area around 35 million years ago.

Just added to the print store:

Lake Ruataniwha is an artificial lake in the Mackenzie Basin in the South Island of New Zealand. It was formed in 1977–1981 as part of the Waitaki hydroelectric project. It lies on the traditional boundary of the Canterbury and Otago provinces, with the town of Twizel two kilometres to the north.

Visiting this place is a magic experience.

In a very large area you can admire really impressive sand sculptures. There are works by international artists and the scenery is really amazing. Worth a visit, possibly in the evening, as the lighting makes the works even more impressive. 15,000 tons of sand have been used to create these masterpieces and this gives the idea of the size of the site.

This long, cascading water fall is part of the White River, Pukaskwa National Park. These rapid falls are the final ones before the river hits Lake Superior. To get to this view, you have to go off the White River trail, listen to the sound of the falls and follow the river up stream, hiking along the river boulders from the suspension bridge.

I am a photographer who is a specialised printmaker, I only print my work on technical printmaker paper and aluminium substrate. I have found that modern online printing does not reproduce the original quality of my photographs. The internet will never replicate the quality of my images. I have spent twenty years transitioning my darkroom skills to pigment ink printing. If you would like a print, please get in touch with me.
