Started as a Deep Dream image, then slid in BeFunky, than in Flickr editor, and then in Deep Dream again. HSS!
An ultimately disappointing image, taken after a close encounter with a splendid male Merlin on the Isle of Man yesterday. It had been perched in a roadside tree as I drove past. I reversed the car slowly back past the Merlin and fumbled for my camera to get what could have been a dream image of this elusive falcon, no more than ten metres away, on a prominent, natural perch and against a clean background of fields. At which point it flew onto a power line, silhouetted against a dull sky and surrounded by man-made clutter! I suppose that encapsulates why wildlife photography is both so frustrating and so exhilarating.
OK this is only a dream image. Just having fun and thought I would share a "Winter scene" for those of us now living in Mississippi.
I have found the Deep Dream Generator images shared on Flickr so fascinating that I just had to try it myself. This website according to Wikipedia is a "computer vision program created by Google engineer, Alexander Mordvintsev" using artificial intelligence. How it works is beyond my humble intelligence, but it is free for all to use and I can testify that it is a captivating process. This image is the result of a Deep Dream generation that started with a photo of a late-blooming and rather faded, ragged Daylily in my garden.

Are they our own dreams? Images of the soul that often materialize unconsciously and then surface in a picture, or is it the universal power we call GOD which often guides our thoughts and fingers in dialogue with us?
Of course, I decide whether or not to publish a picture, but I don't decide the path to get there alone :)
All of this, together with the self-knowledge that can be gained from it, often makes me enjoy using AI tools.
made with stable diffusion, topaz and photoshop.
A blending of several Wombo Dream images using Prompt words: spaceship, rusty, chrome, abandoned warehouse, puddles on floor. Used the style "VFX." Layering and masking done with Pixelmator Pro and further processed with Distressd FX Plus and Pastello.
Well, I have definitely fallen down the Wombo rabbit hole now. Wanting to use some of the premium styles as well as getting tired of all the free version's ads, I popped for the premium version and it was well worth it! Hope you enjoy this little sci-fi creation.
Have a great week and thanks in advance for any comments, faves and invitations!

EXPLORE
RIO DE LA PLATA
WEST
WINTER
My point of view:
The image shows a sunset over the Río de la Plata in Montevideo, where the setting sun paints the sky and water in warm tones. The clouds, elongated and dynamic, reflect the golden light, adding depth and drama. The river, calm and wide, acts as a mirror for the sky, enhancing the peaceful atmosphere. In the foreground, silhouettes of trees, a palm, and a bird stand out against the glow, while the city skyline appears in the background. Nature, city, and sky merge into a harmonious and evocative scene.

Created for Recreating Vermeer Ai March Challenge:
www.flickr.com/groups/recreatingmasters/discuss/721577219...
I blended two unique DDG Text 2 Dream image layers in PS2023. The top layer (head with scarf and collar) used a Wikipedia public domain image of Johannes Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring" as the source. That prompt was: Girl with a Pearl Earring, stunningly Beautiful open eyes, in the style of Johannes Vermeer, in a room lit only by burning candles, elegant, sensuality, beautiful, oil on canvas, crisp quality, high definition. The base layer (woman in a room with candles at her vanity) was created using this prompt: in the style of Johannes Vermeer, a room lit only by burning candles. I let DDG choose its source. I hand painted parts of the scarf (to make it orange like the gown). painted out the original head, changed the background, painted out an arm/ hand that originally looked like a doughy loaf of bread, and repaired the shape of a candle holder. I also created a third layer by cloning the new head, reversed its direction, modified its shape, and blended it on the mirror to create the reflection and altered its color and vibrance to be more subdued in tone. These changes were all done in PS 2023. Last, I applied Topaz Gigapixel Ai to sharpen the image and Topaz Studio look "Expressionism" at 23%.
Thanks for your visit, faves, and kind comments.
Shoot this scene during our office outing, I try my best to adjust the lights, contrast, curves to made this image comes close to an image in my dreams.

This is the photo that was used to create the previous Wombo image and also the Deep Dream image prior to that.
BLACK is an important color in the Kunstmuseum this autumn. In an expanding series of exhibitions on Belgian art, attention is focused on work that can hardly tolerate daylight. The amount of lux to which the drawings and watercolors of Léon Spilliaert may be exposed is limited, but fortunately, our retina also has receptors to see in low light. Those who sleep badly and often rummage through a dark house are familiar with it. In that case, color is of little importance, but the spectrum between black and white shows a velvety range of shades and gradations. Moonlit nights, the flickering candle, the distant fire: a point of light in the darkness appeals to the imagination.
THE KUNSTMUSEUM combines Spilliaert's nocturnal dream images with the photographic work of Dirk Braeckman, which also cannot tolerate full daylight. Museums routinely adjust their lighting accordingly. Even with weaker, well-dosed spotlights, the human eye sees more than enough. Planning the exhibition, curator Thijs de Raedt foresaw painting the walls dark grey. That sounds strange – even less light? – but a darkly tinted work of art can lose its fine details on snow-white walls. How do you coordinate image and context? Specialized experts know everything about lux and retina. Especially with old art, white walls are not self-evident. The Rijksmuseum and the Mauritshuis regularly paint their walls in matching shades if the art stands out better.
SYMBOLISM
With Léon Spilliaert (1881-1946), we go back more than a century in time. When he was born, artificial light was still a form of luxury. Workers had to make do with an oil lamp and went to bed with the chickens. This does not apply to Spilliaert. He is the son of a successful perfumer who also left his mark on local politics. This businessman has no time for godless socialism, but he is progressive enough to advocate for ‘Catholic’ unions.
THE YOUNG LÉON sees the light of day in Ostend, where art is searching for a new form in changing groups, and the self-righteous James Ensor (1860-1949) plays a leading role. Spilliaert does not fit into this noisy art world. From an early age, he is rather unworldly. Agonizing pains in the intestines keep him awake. Long walks in deserted places are the only remedy. He likes to draw but barely lasts three months at the art academy and gradually develops as an autodidact. He shuns public discourse. He prefers to work in silence. The art direction he feels related to is symbolism, which always hints at secrets and revelations.

Is there anyone , who does NOT miss Spring right now???
For me the dream-image of Spring is represented not even by my own garden, but by …..the Keukenhof Park of Holland!! And if you doubt, just have a look at my photostream , where almost half of the photos are taken in this inspiring, magical Tulip Park!! Because, every end of April I am in there, walking and taking pictures for hours, until my feet can’t go on walking any more…
