The only tree around was used for a nest! Magpie or similar bird made a nest there. Same tree we used for a picnic shadow. So baby birds was so quiet, that I first found nest, then the baby birds. The nest was 1,8 m above the ground-almost no people there to disturb the nest, except us that day. As you see, the snapshot was made from very close Както се вижда, снимано "от упор".

Am Vormittag des 12.04.2017 schleppen die beiden TBD-Maschinen 44-083 und 44-073 einen schweren Kohlezug bei Dragoman in Richtung Kraftwerk.

The last train for the day from the mine in Stanyantsi is leaving Dragoman with 07 047 in the front. Normally the electric helper on those trains is coupled in the front, making such view impossible. But this time 44 194 went in the back, leaving the Ludmilla facing the last rays of the sun. So we felt absolutely obliged to chase the train.

The humble international train from Serbia is now rushing through Dragoman. While one it, 44 090 is also importing a considerable amount of Serbian snow in Bulgaria.

It turned out that all the waiting in the snow and freezing temperatures was worth it - after awaiting for 3 hours for even a single train to arrive at Voluyak station, in a matter of minutes the station was full of cargo trains.

This caused this extraordinary view, where 4 locos came under a single shot - on the left 55 118 of BDZ Cargo is maneuvering with some tankcars, in the middle the newest arrival for TBD TP 44 073 is maneuvering towards its coal freight train and on the right two BDZ Cargo fighters, 514 and 531, are waiting to depart Voluyak towards Dragoman with a huge freight.

It arrived recently, still wearing the nice promotional livery, which Siemens Mobility gave it.

Now, 192 002 is already seen driving trains across its new home, Bulgaria. And while it is still uncertain whether (and for how long) it will remain with that outfit, it certainly is nice to be able to enjoy it.

Like many empires, the Ottoman Empire applied a policy of indirect rule for the territories they had conquered. This allowed them to hold the indigenous administration responsible for failures of policy. The middleman between the Ottoman authority and the non-Muslim population was the Dragoman. In Cyprus the Dragoman used to be a Christian of the Greek-Orthodox tradition. Being a high official, the Dragoman was able to amass great wealth, but was also in constant danger of losing the support of either the Christians or the Ottoman authority. The mansion of Dragoman Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios (beheaded in 1809) in Nicosia (now a museum) reflects the importance of his political function and also the typical style of an official building of the Ottoman Empire (a large inner yard with its own water supply and hamam, the bath). The Golden Skoda! That was a very lucky shot at Dragoman station with the dazzling 44 160, which has recently returned from an overhaul from CMZO Prerov in Czech Republic. I would say lucky not only because we catched this beauty a moment before sunset, but also because the locomotive was stopped on the only one place in the station where the sun was still shining! So isn't that a good luck? :)

This room is typical of the Ottoman interior design. Similar castles and rooms can be found in Lebanon too. They were used for the gathering of higher-ups to discuss important matters and smoke.

Muruzi House, a former revenue house in Saint Petersburg, Russia, built in 1870s for count Alexander Dmitrievich Mourouzis.

The Mourouzis or Moruzi (Muruzi) are a family which was first mentioned in the Empire of Trebizond. Its origins have been lost, but the two prevalent theories are that they were either a local family originating in a village which has a related name or else one that arrived with the Venetians during the Fourth Crusade (since there are records of a Venetian family with a similar name a generation earlier). They became one of the leading families of Greek Phanariotes. The family moved to present-day Romania (the Danubian Principalities) in the 17th century, became Dragomans of the Porte and boyars, and gave Wallachia and Moldavia two hospodars – Princes Konstantine and Alexander. Konstantine's great grandson Demetrius fled to Russia after the outbreak of the Greek War of Independence, where his progeny was permitted to use the Princely title in 1893 and in 1905. Members of the family remained in Romania and Bessarabia until the Soviet occupation post-World War II.

86 001, 86 006 and 85 002 of Bulmarket, ahead of a fuel train towards Serbia. It's not an unusual view to see 3-4 or even 5 locomotives ahead of a train of the Bulgarian private railway operator Bulmarket. Usually they do this only to transfer some locomotives from one location to another. Probably this case is similar, but the train is also very heavy, for sure about 2000 t. So, I guess all of the three locos are pulling the train hard, on the gradient from Slivnitsa towards Dragoman.
