Famed as the site of Hercules' successful battle against the Nemean lion. University of California began excavating this site in 1973, and much work has been accomplished here in the years since this photo was taken, including the excavation of the stadium and the discovery of an intact early Mycenaen tomb dating ca. 1650-1400 BCE

Experimenting with some processing. Opted for a bit of an inverse effect with this since the car is black and there were gravel-traps on both sides which were light-colored. Figured, why not?

The Wikipedia article on Capernaum mentions that arachaeologists assume olive trees were cultivated in abundance in the area, due to the ancient oil presses found in the area. This is what they are talking about.

Sunny day (!!) at the Nekromanteion (Νεκρομαντεῖον, Oracle of the Dead) on the banks of the Acheron River in Epirus, northern Greece We made a quick stop to check it out on our way home to Glyfada after getting off the ferry in Igoumenitsa. We're not in gray cold continental Europe any more. :-)
October 1974
Unfortunately, this is probably NOT the real Nekromanteion, but rather a fortified farm house from the 2nd century BC.
