Merry Christmas to you all !! Hope its a safe and wonderful time with loved ones...
While many of you will be all warm and cozy in front of a fire or playing in the snow, Here in Australia it will be hot so most of my Christmas days are spent on the beach recovering from a food coma..lol..and swishing flies away!!!, swimming in the deep blue waters...
I dream of having a White Christmas... Christmas all over the world can be so different.
Diplarrhena moraea, commonly known as The Butterfly Flag, or White Iris, is a member of the Iris family, Iridaceae. It occurs in Australian heathland and forest in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. Flourishes pretty well too here in Lady Bo's English country garden, half a world away. She brought a delicate little touch of downunder to the surface ... :-))
A tropical bird from Down Under. After a few safaris at Currumbin, our final stop was the lorikeets. And we fed them and they climbed on our hands, arms, and heads. I forget what the concoction was that we was feeding them, but they gave us a good show to say the very least!

Whilst playing around with my lensball and candle one evening I noticed the upside down refraction ( thanks David for correction:) plus a separate reflection of a tealight in a bowl of water. So here's to all of us this Sunday at the start of a new year!
Looking down on a desert oak(?) as its met by first light from our early morning balloon flight out of Alice Springs.
At the Wheelers Hill Sculpture Park, Library and Monash Gallery of Art. Amongst the bright dry grass is this upside down sculpture.

Decided to try out my new B+W filter this afternoon. It's a 10 stopper so it's a bit tricky to get it all set up. Turned out ok, but I think I'll do better next time.
