Pointillism dotwork piece I did at the Peterlee Tattoo Arts Festival convention recently on Leanne - together we discussed a Polynesian/Maori-inspired floral addition to her leg to tattoo live at the show, and it ended up with a very unique design that gathered a lot of attention on the day. Both artist and customer very pleased! :)
Work in progress - a traditional theme in Polynesian artwork, the turtle or 'honu' symbolises the navigator that is able to find its way home time and time again - and a representation of guardian spirits that were believed to take the form of animals.
I love bringing depth to these traditional styles with careful pointillism dot work, giving shading and pattern instead of just solid heavy lines all over.
