the dots are for fun
to make things lighter
but not only that
they have a dark side too
the dots are a metaphor
the things i have to deal with feel like a virus
by putting the dots on
i make my pain visible
by washing the dots away
i feel like being able to cope with it
i know this might sound rather crazy, but at least i am not religious :-)

I love this bird the first time I saw it on the blog. It's so whimsical, funky.....
I clear embossed the circles in a line stamp (don't know how to describe it) on watercolor paper first, then just water colored the background and dots.
CL338 Be yourself
CL266 Mix & Match elements
Colorbox pink/marigold/canary pigment ink refillers (for the dots)
Posh Rainbow ink Cirtrus ink refiller
(for the background, turned out to be a bit "mustard green" than lime green)
Various acrylic paints for the two flower sticks?
Canson watercolor 4"x6" paper
Thanks for looking!:)
The theme of Macro Mondays for 7/10 is dots. This is hands down the most colorful of the 6 possibilities for today.

The cool, drizzly morning made this dragonfly (and his companions) sluggish and easy to photograph. This young male will lose all but the bottom spot on its abdomen and his gray-ish face will turn white as it matures, thus earning its common name. Photographed in the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge, Wisconsin.
Dot is one of the permanent residents of Slab City. She makes little trinkets that she sells to help support herself. If you look carefully at the picture there is a lot going on here. Behind the trailer is where she has a small courtyard where she has her living space and trinkets for sale.
As we spent some time talking to her, she told us that the murals on the trailer appeared overnight without her knowledge. I've seen the work the artist on the right in different places in the Imperial Valley. He is a pretty talented artist. We saw his work in Bombay Beach also. And of course as with most of Slab City, its 420 time all the time.
The artist Honor719 has been doing art like this for a long time since the 80's. I looked him up online and he is a trained artist with a couple of degrees. He has painted murals like this one all over the West coast and usually does images of famous people. The mural in Bombay Beach was from the movie Bonnie and Clyde and portrayed the actors from the film. Like this one, it was done really well.
These are photos taken on my trip to Europe and the UK with a girl friend in October to November 2012. My camera I had then wasn't good with low light so some of these shots are not great but I have put them as my memories of the trip.
On a visit to Hampton Court Palace October 2012. It was cold damp day with a few showers passing by.
Hampton Court Palace is a Grade I listed royal palace in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, 12 miles south west and upstream of central London on the River Thames. Building of the palace began in 1514 for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, the chief minister of King Henry VIII. Wikipedia
