Konec ledna 2014 byl dosti špatný pro motorové vozy řady 843, které nezvládaly zimu a tak musely být nahrazeny "klasickými" soupravami s velkou mašinou. Jedním ze spěšných vlaků táhne do stoupání ze stanice Branná brejlovec 754.080, zvlášť oblíbený kvůli žlutému pruhu na čele. :)

To, že Aristokratka, prototyp naprosto legendárních lokomotiv řad ES499.0 a E499.2, se do čela vlaku dost pravděpodobně už nikdy nepodívá jistě nikomu neuniklo. Ještě v červenci však nebyl problém tuto lokomotivu v čele vlaku spatřit, nejčastěji na slovenské páteřní expresní linky Tatran spojující Košice, Žilinu a Bratislavu. Tenkrát najížděla poslední kilometry před plánovaným odstavením. Nakonec však ani to už nenajezdila, dne 17.7. 2023 v Trnavě totiž došlo k požáru elektroniky a lokomotiva byla nadobro odstavena. Týden před touto událostí jsem se vydal na Slovensko s cílem zdokumentovat tuto krásku v čele vlaku Ex 604 Tatran uprostřed vodní nádrže v Krpeľanech, aniž bych věděl jak rychle tato fotografie nabyde hodnoty. Vznik této fotky však byl dosti na hraně i z jiného důvodu, byl jsem už smířen s nenasvícenou fotkou v zataženu, avšak oblačnost se v rozhodující moment roztrhala, vlak už se pomalu vynořoval z oblouku a doslova si vezl násvit.
A zde jedno dosti improvizované foto, aneb když člověk jde na flek, který je ještě takových 100 metrů v dáli, když najednou se řítí zajímavá mašina.. no zajímavá, Pernerku 151.006 mám už asi šestkrát a jen jednou cíleně, jinak vždy náhodně jako na této fotce. Ale myslím si, že se to i tak povedlo a tak to sem přidávám. Na této fotce jsem Pernerku konkrétně zachytil na R 610. :)

Ačkoliv konec Rakví na R14 byl dosti smutný, poslední den GVD jsem strávil celý ve Strašnicích. Sice na ně nemám z dětství daleko tolik vzpomínek jako místní, nicméně za ten rok co jsem tam strávil focením jsem si jich dost udělal a i já jsem měl co dělat aby mi o půlnoci po průjezdu posledního vlaku neukápla slzička.
Nicméně konec to byl veliký, přímo před půlnocí přišla spousta lidí na poslední vlak, všude možně byly rozmístěné svíčky, lidé se bavili, vzpomínali, úctyhodný konec. Ne smutný a zapomenutý s několika málo fandy železnice co tam měli v plánu zůstat do konce, jak jsem milně předpovídal.
Asi poslední zajímavý vlak co zavítal do Strašnic byl zvláštní osobní vlak 11825 se svátečně vyzdobenou Kredencí 831.168 společnosti KŽC, která se jela rozloučit se Strašnicemi a hned na to jako první osobní vlak pokřtila novou zastávku v Edenu. Zde jsem jí zachytil kde jinde než v této malebné zastávce, ze střechy jednoho z přístřešků. :)

Na svojí první pouť do jižních Čech se "Rudý ďábel" vydal v dosti deštivém dni dne 09. července roku 2022 s devíti klaničáky na nakládku dřevní kulatiny do Číčenic. Vlak byl vystaven z železniční stanice Třebušice a zachycen na známém fleku pod Čížovou. Zpět jede jako Lv 52057 na svou domovskou základnu v Teplicích v Čechách.

Pehlwani (Devanagari: पहलवानी, Urdu: پہلوانی), Kushti (Devanagari: कुश्ती, Urdu: کشتی), or modern Indian wrestling, is a synthesis of an indigenous Aryan / Hindu form of wrestling that dates back at least to the 5th century BC and a Persian form of wrestling brought into South Asia by the Mughals.
A practitioner of this sport is referred to as a pehlwan (also spelled pahlwan in Persian, champion, literally a Parthian). Generally speaking, Hindu teachers of wrestling are known as guru and Muslim teachers ustad.
The Indian wrestling form has undergone several changes in both the nomenclature and training methodologies through the ages.
The more prominent influences include the introduction of Persian nomenclature and western training methods.
Wrestling competitions, known as Dangals, held at village levels, have their own rules which vary from place to place. Usually, a win is awarded by decision from the panel of judges, knockout, stoppage or submission.

Dne 2.8.2020 byla díky mimořádné události na území Německa zablokována souprava vlaku EuroCity 379, která mířila z Kiel Hbf. do Prahy. Tím se naskytla velice vyjmečná možnost vidět dosti specifickou soupravu na trati 090. Do čela se tenkrát postavilo ESo 363 050-6, které ten den nastoupilo na několika měsíční výpomoc v osobní dopravě. V ten samý den tento stroj stihl odvést rychlík do Českých Budějovic a v okolí Budějovic se toto ESo vyskytovalo nejčastěji až do jeho odvolání.
Čtyřkilometrový úsek trati číslo 201 pod střídavou trakcí je prakticky v osobní dopravě elektricky nevyužíván. Spojka mezi Ražicemi a Putimí se využívá hlavně pro vozbu uhlí ze severu Čech do teplárny Písek. A v případě, jako je tento, kdy je výluka mezi Protivínem a Ražicemi pro odklonění osobní dopravy. Kdysi tímto směrem na Pelhřimov jezdil poslední pár vlaků "Junák" z Plzně směrem na Tábor - Pelhřimov - Jihlavu až do Brna a zpět v opačném směru. Prakticky jediný plzeňský "plecháč", kterému byly odstraněny zásuvky dálkového řízení je právě tento kousek 242.208 a je dosti pravděpodobné, že se budou zase zpět dodělávat? Vzhledem k tomu, že potřeba těchto lokomotiv u ČD a.s. klesá, jsou postupně předávány k dcerce ČD Cargo a.s., kde mají pomalu nahradit nejstarší řadu střídavek, řadu 230. Lokomotivy mají být uzpůsobeny pro dvojčlenné řízení a má na ně být dosazeno ETCS. V Českých Budějovicích jsou již odstaveny stroje 242.201, 209, 221, 239, 241, 244 a 269, které byly předány pod ČD Cargo.

This was shot before sunset at Gai Ghat along the holy waters of the Ganges in Varanasi (Benaras).
The highlight there is a huge sculpted figure of a stone cow, from which the ghat got its name "Gai" (which means "cow" in Hindi) and it is symbolizing the earth.
Those two young men were standing at a few stairs below where a smaller statue of Nandi, the bull known as the gate keeper of Shiva, is facing a lingam with a snake on it.
After having a hair cut and taking a bath in the river, those friends were drying under the last rays of the sun at the time where some magic is falling.
They were enjoying this moment and didn't know that something was now watching and slowly slithering towards them...

Those two pelhwans (Indian wrestlers) are standing at the entrance of the little akhara (gymnasia) which is lost in the fields near Sakalhida, a village in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
It was in winter, early in the morning before sunrise.
"After exercising, a wrestler rubs his body with the earth of the akhara to dry his perspiration.
This prevents his body from cooling too rapidly, and thus guards against illness.
While resting, he is rubbed down.
As the earth dries on his skin it is scraped off by other wrestlers.
By the time the earth is scraped, the body is cool enough for the wrestler to bathe.
It is vitally important that a person not bathe while still hot, for this will inevitably enrage the body and cause serious illness.
A wrestler must urinate before bathing in order to relieve the body’s inner heat".

Last morning I was reaching the bank of Ramnagar facing Varanasi (Benaras) and a few kids swimming in the Ganges came towards Anand’s boat.
They were happy, smiling like summer sunshines and carrying a real energy which allowed to forget that temperature has reached 47°.
I had “Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles in mind for the rest of the day...

This picture was shot one evening at my friend Durga's workshop which is facing the Ganges in Varanasi (Benaras).
Durga Charan Das is a young painter living in the "City of Lights".
When he was 4 years old he became famous after painting the feet of Goddess Durga's statue in a temple nearby his family house in a village located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Ever since he is considered to be the Mozart of Indian contemporary painting.
This reputation allowed him to become a successful Art student in the prestigious "Banaras Hindu University" (B.H.U.) of Varanasi.
The biggest university in Asia has a program led by some of the best Art teachers among modern India.
His training gave him a knowledge of classic Indian and European paintings while allowing him to carry on his own style.
He is painting amazing bodies making love or sometimes alone but always with sensuality and strength, with something special that reminds a lot of Eugene Delacroix's work...
Durga has already won several prestigious awards in India and now exhibitions of his work are starting in Europe.

I took this picture on his motorboat last morning, while he was driving me from the palace of the Maharaja of Benares which is Ramnagar back to Varanasi (Benaras).
He opened this big umbrella in order to avoid the heat of the sun which was reflecting on the Ganges, temperature was then around 47°.

I took this picture as I was walking early in the morning along the Ganges in Varanasi (Benaras).
Those two friends were talking behind drying clothes, there was a nice game of light though the red fabric that I wanted to catch with my camera.

Zvuk dvojice motorů ČKD 6 S 310 DR ve dvojčeti Hektorů společnosti Junior market s.r.o Železniční doprava, který narušil klidné nedělní odpoledne na Rádle, dal vědět o tom, že se nákladní vlak právě rozjíždí z vrchovové stanice Jeřmanice, kde vykřižoval s R 1270. Chvíli poté již Hektoři výběhem projížděli rovným úsekem těsně před zastávkou Rádlo. V těchto končinách se jedná o dosti netypické stroje, ikdyž se zde Hektor již párkrát objevil. Jednalo se o přepravu vozů z polské pohraniční stanice Zawidow do Papíren Bělá pod Bezdězem. Za kontrolérem Hektora sedí sám majitel Junior marketu - Jiří Uher.

(ZZ Top never opted to give Linden credit, which would have been THE decent thing to do. It would have helped Linden's career as well. The band and management worked ruthlessly to take FULL credit for the hugely successful album which Linden had spent a good deal of time working on. Linden works daily to tell this story. Also, the band did not opt to pay Linden, they worked to keep all the money and they treated Linden like dirt. It was abuse. Linden launched a limited lawsuit, brought about using his limited resources which brought limited results and took years. No one should treat the co-writer of their most successful album like this. It's just deeply fucked up.)

Gibbons said: “This was a really interesting turning point. We had befriended somebody who would become an influential associate, a guy named Linden Hudson. He was a gifted songwriter and had production skills that were leading the pack at times. He brought some elements to the forefront that helped reshape what ZZ Top were doing, starting in the studio and eventually to the live stage. Linden had no fear and was eager to experiment in ways that would frighten most bands. VINYLSTYLUS DOT COM: Much of Eliminator was recorded at 124bpm, the tempo that considered perfect for dance music by the band’s associate Linden Hudson. An aspiring songwriter, former DJ and – at the time – drummer Frank Beard’s house-sitter, Hudson’s involvement in the recording of the album would come back to haunt them. Despite assisting Gibbons with the pre-production and developing of the material that would end up on both El Loco and Eliminator, his contribution wasn’t credited when either record was released.

Into the ruins of a Madrasa from the fourteenth century which stands at Hauz Khas village in South Delhi, I met Jatin who was playing guitar with three of his friends.
They were sitting at a window in front of the large water tank.
Their music was echoing in several rooms of the Mughal building and bringing a pleasant atmosphere.
There was a storm like those we have at the end of summer forthwithing the begining of the rainy season.
I took several pictures, it was a nice break in my busy day, this place is so peaceful that I almost forgot I was in Delhi...
