it's common to find all over the city, at small streets crossings, those offerings to saints and orixas...
this one was so beautiful... full of dark red roses spread over...
it was a dark spot, on a dark corner of a dark street...
i ask excuses to the saints before taking this picture with my dark red flash : )

I find that sometimes there are times when you are out hiking, you are able to realize more than the discovery of what your seeking. You learn something new about yourself. There is a lot of people struggling right now. Times are hard, for many. I found this stream after a bit of a rocky hike that my husband dragged me thru, with legs aching and blisters on my feet. I felt many times I was ready to give up, but I didn't....I made it, and this was the beautiful sight I was rewarded with.
If I have given up, I would not have seen this tucked within the shadows.
I found I was much stronger than I had thought. Here is a quote I found I felt sums up that feeling.
" Never fear shadows. They simply mean there's a light shining somewhere nearby."

When were we taking pictures of this magnificent building , security guard showed up and told us that :
“They don't want you to take pictures”
I asked : " Why ? "
- " Because you are private properties and don't have a permission "
I asked : " Where the “private” property ends " and I moved tripod 3'.
Than she told us that we were still under the camera surveillance .
I asked “ Why do you film me – I didn't sign permission "
She just walked away.
So in my opinion – I take images of the building ( that was build with heavy government involvement ) and they take pictures of me – so the both parties are not happy but I think that is even trade. By the way – this image was taken from the “public” side.
Because of this incident I looked more into Photographers Rights here are couple of links that are applicable to Canada

Besides nearly asphyxiating myself, I was not harmed during this shot.
I have had my eye on this gas mask and sign for months now. I finally decided to use them. I have the best job ever.
Don't worry, color and wrapping paper are coming back. I've just had a very black and gray week. But I feel much better. I even attempted a wrapping paper shot tonight with my newly purchased Martha Stewart wrapping paper, but everything looked like utter crapola. So, out came the props!
