Le chevreuil est une espèce crépusculaire et nocturne. Son gite diurne se trouve dans les fourrés ou les buissons, les fougères ou les hautes herbes. De l'automne au début du printemps, les chevreuils vivent en général en petites bandes dont la constitution peut varier, mais dont les individus restent fidèles aux même cantonnements. En été, les animaux sont solitaires.
Le rut se situe en fin juillet et au mois d'août. Contrairement à beaucoup d'espèces semblables, le chevreuil mâle ne réunit pas une harde. Il se contente de poursuivre une femelle pendant une courte période, puis l'abandonne pour en trouver une autre. Si l'accouplement se produit à cette période, le développement de l'embryon ne commence qu'au mois de janvier.
La mise bas a lieu au mois de mai ou de juin. Elle est le plus souvent de deux jeunes

This is the Peterborough Golf and Country Club in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, that caught my morning attention. I was in Peterborough celebrating my sons college graduation.

Pour les hameaux qui composent la commune dont le nom veut sans doute dire « exposés aux vents », que d’épreuves à répétitions ! Les 1500 habitants de Laventie sont évacués de force par l’armée allemande, en avril 1918, et quand ils reviennent, c’est pour découvrir leur commune en bonne partie ravagée. Autour des décombres de l’église, huit cents maisons ont été détruites ou endommagées. Tout autour de ces ruines, on commencera plus tard une série de cimetières militaires internationaux d’une ampleur qui donne froid dans le dos.. et pousse à se recueillir. La présence sur le territoire de la commune de sept cimetières militaires (six britanniques et un allemand) atteste de l’acharnement des combats qui s’y déroulèrent pendant la Guerre 14-18.
Rue-du-Bacquerot Military Cemetery N°1. Un des petits cimetières situés près de la Rue-du-Bacquerot a été commencé par l’Armée indienne en novembre 1914. Il était le plus proche de la rue d’Estaires à la Bassée et connu sous le nom de Rue-du-Bacquerot N°1.
Il a été utilisé jusqu’en mai 1917 et pendant une période en 1918 par les unités tenant la ligne de front. Après l’armistice, le petit secteur indien a été agrandi quand les tombes des champs de bataille environnants y ont été transférés.
